We love Chicago style hot dogs. We have been to Chicago many times. Once we heard about this place we had to try it. It's the real deal, electric green relish, poppy seed buns, and ALL. Tremendous fries, wings and Mac and cheese.

We had received a gift card to the restaurant. We chose the self serve section versus the bar full service section. Table was dirty and surrounding floor filthy. Ordered pulled pork sandwiches with fries and cabbage salad. Pork was a large piece that was dark with gristle and knobs in it. Had a teaspoon of barbecue of sauce with cabbage... More

It was an open atmosphere, a little complicated when you first arrive as you are not sure what the descriptions of the hot dogs are (they are on a menu on wall with no descriptions, and if you didn't know there was a printed copy you would have to look around to find one or wait til you got to... Chicago Dogs this location is new and at 671 Main St Walk in order and pay for your food at the register and go sit down. Shortly they will call your name and you can pick up your food at the kitchen counter. One or two beers are available at the register and if you want something else the small... More

Chicago Dogs has moved from Route 1 in Scarborough Me. to 671 Main St. in South Portland Me. and is housed in an annex to the Howard Johnson's Hotel. Upon entering to you're right is a small but very comfortable pub. To you're left is the more traditional dining room area. The pub consists of 4 high tables with 4... More

We had visited Chicago Dogs when they used to be in Scarborough. Now they have moved to South Portland, connected to Howard Johnson's, if I'm remembering right. This move was extremely unwise. The location has paint spattered all over the floor, and the seats are covered in stains. It looks extremely dirty. I ordered an Italian Beef sandwich, that was... More

I enjoy the food here even though the mac and cheese is expensive, the Carolina dog with pulled pork is amazig. *WARNING* They don't care about customer feedback as they never responsed to my email about this issue. ********* Remember to watch when they make your food! The cashier went back and cooked without changing her gloves!

It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't high quality food. French fries tasted good but were mushy and not a good texture. I got the chili cheese dog which had minimal chili and generally did not have much flavor. The best parts of my experience were the $1 Shock Top drafts and friendly and courteous manager/owner.
