My friends and I came here for lunch when in town for the Thanksgiving holiday. I didn't have high expectations because I had been to the DC location and wasn't that impressed, but it was the only restaurant where we could make a reservation for 10 people so we took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised! I got a sangira... More

This is THE place for Tapas in the DC area, and belongs to the Jose Andres restaurant empire. However, the new place just a few blocks away has a smaller but more interesting menu, in my opinion. Jaleo is fine, I've never had bad food there, but it never wows me.

Recently my husband and I took my cousins visiting from Hong Kong to Jaleo in Bethesda for lunch. First, they were thrilled the minute we entered the place when they saw it was a Jose Andres restaurant. They also loved the festive and attractive, open, colorful decor. Then the food came and every selection was hot, fresh and delicious. I... More

This is one of my favorite restaurant s in Bethesda for lunch or dinner. Very delicious, authentic tapas, everyone will find something they like on the menu. Whimsical decor and great staff. It can be a little loud on a busy evening.

This restaurant, part of the Jose Andres empire in Washington, never disappoints. The service is excellent, the food is mouth-watering, and the atmosphere lively and attractive. I love the fact that it is consistent...that you can always count on a good meal, which is more than you can say of a lot of restaurants in Bethesda.

Love their combos and their small plates which, portion size, are great for lunch. A good place to meet friends for lunch.

What a relaxing place to have lunch and if you land a table by the window watch the Bethesda street scape. There are so many delicious items to try. Tiny items like the salmon tartare in a cone are a favorite. I love the fava bean salad. Such great flavors with such subtlety are found on this menu. Jaleo serves... More

Not a great start when the man on the desk is surly and seems unable to work the reservation computer - or perhaps deciding which of the many empty tables to assign is too much for him. He then stood and watched disdainfully as I struggled to pull a heavy table out a few inches to get to the banquet.... More

We have been to Jaleo in Crystal City several times. The food is very good -- consistent from restaurant to restaurant. I recommend getting at least 2 tapas per person..then if still hungry..go for more. Our waiter knew the menu and made very good recommendations.

A group of four of us started with several tapas plates. All were good and well-prepared. The server mentioned they also have paella, so we ordered two: One vegetarian and one shrimp. Freshly prepared and served table-side, the two paella looked very good. However, both were simply rice with very little else. The vegetarian had few veggies and the shrimp... More
