Everything was fine, but not outstanding. I don't think I would come here again for a special occasion. I would for regular dining.

This was my first choice for dinner based on the online menu - I wanted a specific dish. Unfortunately the menu changed and item was not on the menu. Luckily the menu is posted outside so I knew before I could be seated. I total support using the freshest, in season products. Just disappointed because I was in the mood... More
We went there for our eight-year wedding anniversary. We arrived at the restaurant with a very lively happy hour scene in the front porch, and quiet in the back on a saturday night. We were seated in the back corner, not great, but ok. The meun was great. Not very many choices, but they were good choices. We ordered a... More
We have been here twice within the last few months. On both occasions the service was terrible. The food is tasty. The brunch offers descent selections however, you have to wait for some items as they were depleted frequently. Despite attempting to contact management several times concerning the terrible service, we have received no response.

There are a lot of places to eat in Bethesda, and we choose Black's frequently. The choices are varied and always beautifully prepared. They also have great cocktails and a nice wine list, including half-bottles. We always have a a lovely meal with friendly, professional service.
This Bethesda restaurant is our go-to place whenever people visit for business or pleasure. The food is excellent and they offer a good variety. They also have fresh and raw seafood.
I loved the food here--everything was excellent (monkfish, salmon, soups, special appetizer of scallop and potsticker). Service was not quite professional--some hovering without the kind of attention that was needed (refilling water). Tthe noise level on a Friday night, 6:30-10:00 was unbearable for me.
We had to make another trip back to the NIH in Bethesda. Our third within a year and wanted to try another restaurant we had not been to. Blacks is in walking distance of most of the hotels in downtown Bethesda. We reserved a table for two online. The online reservation gives you time choices all day long so we... More
