Been eating here since if was a Thompson's Clam Bar Staff hangout in mid 90's. You come here for the lobster roll, which is massive and light on mayo, and the chowder, which if you like thick chowder, you will love it. Cheap. Ref and local wait who we really enjoy. Great place to go to step away from the... More

A friend recommended the Wooden Shoe to us for great New England clam chowder - my friend's husband's favorite, and seafood is fresh. The place is a local, used to be a "Cheers" type place for the neighborhood minus food, and current owners have had it for 16 yrs. They've gradually transformed it into a restaurant and bar, one that... More

We read about the Wooden Shoe in an article about "the best clam chowder on the Cape" so we decided give it a try for lunch. We arrived about 15 minutes after opening and were promptly seated. We each ordered a cup of the chowder and a lobster roll - my husband ordered the large, I got the "small". (by... More

We have lived on the Cape for 30+ years but up until yesterday had never stopped at The Wooden Shoe! We had lunch there, and it was awesome -- a fresh, packed with meat Lobster Roll and the BEST creamy Clam Chowder, along with drinks. A pleasant and friendly experience from beginning to end. Thank you Wooden Shoe!

Great place to have your first ever Lobster! Good service and delicious food. For those not familiar with a Lobster meal, it comes with a corn cob and that's it. Did enjoy the experience but overall not very filling as it takes a long time to crack into the meat.

The best aspect of this restaurant was the service. A single waitress was handling a large lunch crowd and did an excellent job at it. The food was alright. Their chowder was creamy, but nothing special. The aspect of the place is not impresive. Good if you want to get a quick lunch and hit the road again.

We had great food in a comfortable setting. Really enjoyed the clam chowder and the lobster roll was totally full of luscious lobster. Great family restaurant off the beaten path.

We been here time and time again. Always friendly service albeit there are very busy times. We have never been disappointed. Great fresh perfectly cooked steamers are a staple. The chowder is very good, sometimes better than others. The lobster bisque is very good also. Lobster dinners aplenty. The Lobster Roll Is The Highlight! ! I think it's the best I've... More

Came here last year multiple times for steamers, so good. Back again this year and the steamahs are better than ever, unbelievable. Perfectly cooked, perfect size, and no sand. So sweet and great service as well. We'll be back
