We visited the Colonial Grill on a quiet Saturday evening. Service was excellent and we received drinks and appetizers quite quickly. Our food came out hot and was very good. We will return.

Not practicing the best Covid awareness. To many people without masks and no enforcement. Disappointing to say the least
Pleasantly surprised with the food. Had fish and chips, hubby had the fishermans platter. Both were good. We did have to wait a bit for our food but was told that beforehand by the outgoing hostess. Service was great! Had the best tiramisu martini made...by Aiden, not only did he bartend but he also was our waiter. As busy as Aiden was he made the effort to check on our party multiple times, refilled our children’s Shirley temples and to ask if we needed anything. Thanks Aiden and to the hostess that came around to everyone’s table. Your hard work didn’t go unnoticed.More
went once, order fish with seafood stuffing...had fake seafood stuffing (imitation crab protein) and a bland white flour heavy gravy poured over...hey, the mashed potatoes were good. older patrons and thats the kind of food they serve
We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday Evening, the place was almost empty, should have been a sign, all 3 of us ordered the Prime Rib special -med Rare, all 3 showed up to the table cooked correctly but all 3 were ice cold. Told...the server who was undertrained to say the least, and he took them back, 12-14 mins latter they returned to the table, now they were Med-Well not rare, cut into them and Still Cold. I asked for the manger to come over, he did and I notified his of our issues, he asked to let him fix it, Ok, go for it. 5 mins latter new Pieces of Prime Rib arrived, all cooked correctly and All 3 still COLD, we made the best of it, and finished what we could and left, Management never offered a "coffee and desert" or anything to try to make good on it, probe won’t go backMore
I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of complimentary breakfast buffet items as well as the dinner menu. Very friendly staff made our dinners memorable!
We only went because we had a gift card. Long wait, even though the place was practically empty. They came back to us twice to tell us they didn't have stuff to make the food on the menu, are they struggling to stay open? Food...was not good for the price is was.More
It was just about a year ago, I last reviewed this place. We are local, this is a place we used to go to a LOT! Anyways, we returned here around 6:30 or so on 7/11/19. We took a table up front, because the booth...was further than I wanted to walk (I'm handicapped). The place is not particularly busy, but there are people in the booths. Two servers came over and introduced themselves...Abby and Jenna. Apparently, Abby was "training" Jenna. Great!!! TWO servers, what could be better than that? They ask what we want to drink. We both wanted water, my GF asked for lemon for us. She also got a beer. They brought the water, they brought the beer...no lemon. TWO servers heard that and acknowledged it, but no lemon. They take the order, the order comes, it's ok. My water glass is near empty, the servers don't come back at all. They don't come back to fill my glass, they don't come back to ask if we need anything or if everything is ok. Naturally, they don't come back to bring the lemon, although we are only 5 feet from the bar. Most of the time we were there the host? Manager?, was at the bar chatting with a few people. Now a couple had walked in and taken a table near us, and the host was sitting with the young couple talking. Then the hostess came and sat at the same table with the couple and manager. I don't know...bare in mind we eat out a LOT, and are typically 30% tippers for good service. We DO know what good service is, and we expect it. So we have a server who's training a new server who is the world's worst teacher. The night before this, we were at MGM at a pub to eat. Service was GREAT! The manager came over to check on us there. The manager was helping the servers bus tables. THAT's what a good manager does. Ughhh...the servers come back. Dessert? We don't think so we will take this stuff home. Jenna brings containers, multiple containers, but no bag. Other places we go, they bring bags w/o asking. She brings the bill, I pay with a hundred. The bill comes back and the hostess/cashier had taken and broken the hundred and sent the bill back to me! What's up with that? In 66 years I've never seen that before. Was the register broke? She can't do Math? Were they out of change? Who knows? So...here's the problem...we had TWO servers and got poor service here again! That's 4 ears, 2 tongues, 4 hands, 4 legs need I go on? That same morning we stopped at a diner in Chicopee for breakfast, and the place was packed. We got light years better service there, from one server. I still tipped Jenna 7+ $ on a tiny bill.More
We ate here while staying at the Colonial Hotel. I wish I could remember our server's name because she was fantastic. We got the nachos as an appetizer and they were delicious. Our entrees were great as well. Definitely a nice addition to the hotel!
Not very good for what you pay. Service was so so. Food was ok but nothing to write home about. Not going back.
Saturday Night 6:30PM. Horrible experience. Service was very poor. Food was equally bad. Very disappointing when you plan a night out and this is what you get. Our party of 3 was seated with only 2 sets of silverware, we had to ask our returning...waitress TWICE for a 3rd set. Why did we have to ask? Then, bread was brought to our table with NO plating. Just glasses of water and bread... no plates to break and butter the bread on. The waitress took our drink orders, came back with only 1 of the the 3 drinks and asked for our dinner order. We don't even have our drinks (beer and wine) and she was asking for our dinner order? Whatever. For dinner I ordered a $26 steak medium-rare and it came nearly well done, almost fully grey and colorless thought. Menu said it was served with garlic butter, there was no garlic butter. The steak was served with 4 small unseasoned charred grey (not pink) shrimp. Visually unappealing. I didn't even eat it. Sent it back. Our entrees were served with plastic take-out cups of ketchup! $50 for two entrees and we were served ketchup in tiny plastic take-out containers. Why is there not a bottle of ketchup at the table? Oh and I've had better clam chowder from a can. This chowder broth was like gelatin. My wife's $24 steak was overcooked, but edible. $14 for a bottled beer (with no glass) and a half glass of wine. We watched our waitress spend 4 trips socializing at the same table throughout our service. We had to go to the front desk to pay our check because the waitress didn't come back. Super, super limited menu. Saturday night specials list had 3 items to choose from, 2 being seafood. Very little variety. Way too overpriced for the service and quality of food. Would have PREFERRED McDONALD'S over this. That's how bad it was. A long time customer, been coming for years, hasn't been good for a while, this was the last time. WON'T BE BACK.More
The Colonial Staff and service and accommodations made for the absolutely best place for our daughter’s wedding. Everyone, everyone commented on what an excellent experience it was. I would highly recommend them for your most important life event in this area.
I had the meatloaf with the garlic mash potatoes. You can taste the garlic in the potatoes and the meatloaf was so moist. The staff is beyond what you would think of a hotel coffee shop. This is a definitely a place to eat at....Free breakfast if your staying at the hotel which is excellent also.More
We ate at the Grille for convienence. Just go with a large appetite for dinner. Large servings! Continental Breakfast was a good way to start off your day. Food was good and plentiful.
Food always great. Help very on the ball. Have always had a great time and great meal. Found prices to be affordable.
