We were looking for a place for a late lunch and had decided on a different place but they were closed. We came across the Gloucester House and wow what a find. It was mid afternoon so we had the place to ourselves. The food was very good. The clam chowder was one of the best I have had in... More

The restaurant was crowded because of a memorial service reception but we were seated quickly and our waitress was attentive, friendly, and attentive!! The food is fresh and delicious!! Seafood is very fresh and very fairly priced! Lobster rolls are served two different ways, both outstanding! Haddock is the freshest I've ever had! Highly recommended and our bartender David was... You can count on a large plate of fresh, off the boat seafood at the Gloucester House. This is not a gourmet restaurant, but one with a comfortable atmosphere and friendly wait staff. In fact I would say, if seafood is your comfort food, go there ASAP. Special note:They serve the best cacamari of anywhere in the world!!

I am a huge seafood lover, and the food here was just okay. Nothing really memorable, so I would probably not come back. The main perks of this restaurant are that it is right on the harbor with good views and the waitstaff is friendly and accommodating.

Had lunch there. Met Mike the owner (91). Heard his story on how he invented calamari his tour of duty in WW II. The food was great. He gave us an appetizer of calamari for free. The haddock meal could serve 2 easy. The atmosphere is great. Would go again.

Went to the Gloucester house for seafood upon a local recommendation. The dining room is beautiful and was a nice atmosphere for a dinner with my husband. The boats coming in and out were beautiful to look at while we ate. We were going to get lobsters as we were celebrating my birthday but with a price tag of $46... More

We visited for lunch. They had just opened and were slow getting ready for business. We had wanted fried clams, but they weren't available yet. We had fish tacos and shrimp. Both were good, but not memorable. The clam chowder was excellent and well prepared.

Mom, daughter (home from college on break) and I wanted to have a nice meal on the ocean and decided to try the Gloucester House. The back room is right on the water overlooking dock with fishing boats, harbor cruise boats. Lovely room with fireplace (it was a COLD, but sunny March day). Mom had the haddock which she said... Description
The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes and for the freshest North Atlantic seafood, prepared to perfection. Having been among the first to popularize fried calamari, our specialties range from award-winning clam chowder to homemade bread and cornbread, from Dottie's bourbon cake to Lily's wine list, and from Sambuca mussels to blackened haddock tacos to a fried fisherman's reuben sandwich. We always cook to order and have gluten free and vegetarian menus available, as well as children's meals. Dine full-service on our outdoor, dockside deck or eat lobsters in-the-rough on our harbor side wharf. Located on historic Seven Seas Wharf, there's something for everyone here: shop for souvenirs and local art at our General Store gift shop, enjoy a sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon, or see the whales aboard Seven Seas Whale Watch. Whatever your fancy may be, the Linquata family invites you to join us year-round for a true taste of New England.
