We regularly visit the Clambox during the warm weather to get our fried seafood fix!! The clams and scallops are sweet and juicy!! They keep their frying oil nice and clean! Great onion rings too! On weekends there is a line around the restaurant! You can eat inside or outside or take your food to the town wharf to enjoy... More

I came here recently while on an overnight trip to Massachusetts to see my family. I had to make a beach stop on the North Shore, and knew I could get really good friend scallops here. While its true that they were very good..... they weren't as amazing as last year when I came. This simply may have to do... More

I saw the clam box on a Tv program and made a point to visit on my next trip to New England. I thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The menu is a variety of fried seafood with the headliner being "native clam." The clams were perfectly breaded and fried and the coleslaw and fries were perfect sides. It was a little... More

We simply LOVE this predictable, historic fixture in Ipswich. The service always friendly, a locals favorite, incredible and lightly breaded full clams. Why go anywhere else?

As a lover of chowder this place did not disappoint. Great flavor with large pieces of fish and chucks of potatoes. We also had a fisherman's platter which was large enough for 2. Plenty of clams with large pieces of fish and lots is scallops. Not greasy at all.

Was very disappointed. Was nothing like other vistors have said. Even onion rings were over done. Better places in Essex.

I always take friends to the Clambox when they come to Ipswich! They change their frying oil regularly! Scallops are delicious too! There is always a line on weekends?

Amazing fresh fried clams, this is a fun stop for the entire family. The summer lines can be long but well worth it. Literally ENORMOUS portions! Shared the fisherman platter & chowdah with 3 adults - plenty of food for 3

We would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area so that they can see what good old fashioned New England seafood is all about. The people working here are very friendly, the prices are decent and you can either sit inside to eat or go out on the picnic tables.
