Had very good food and service at Brine. Pricing is a little on the high side but food and service make this little place a good find! Seafood was done right. Oysters were fresh and a nice wine selection here pairs well with their menu. A little cold by the door so try and sit up in the back.

We recently visited Brine for dinner with a friend. The ambiance was nice but our table by the door was a bit drafty. Our waiter, James, was friendly, knowledgable and professional. We started off with a dozen oysters. They were wonderful but at $3 each a bit expensive. Each of us had steaks based on James' recommendation. The filets were... More

It took a couple of tries, but we finally stopped in on a night where we could be seated right away on a Friday night. It was worth the wait. The food was very good. We ordered a couple of different fish entrees. They were both creatively prepared and tasty. The restaurant seems like it was intended to be a... More

Good atmosphere, good service, relatively reasonable pricing. Food is refined but neither unique nor innovative.

I went to Brine on New Years Eve for the first time with a party of 8. And typically thats not an ideal time for a dry run, especially with such a large group. All I can say is WOW. Perfect service, totally impressive food, excellent wine list, cool atmosphere. Is there anything else you could ask for? Several people... More

We had the good fortune of being able to get a last-minute reservation for six at Brine on a typically busy Saturday night, after cocktails at Ceia (Brine's sister restaurant on the opposite side of State Street). I'll say, in advance, that the only factor that kept me from giving a "five star" review was our being seated near the... More

Stopped in for lunch at Brine. Place was full and there were only two tables left. Service was very professional we were warmly greeted by our server. My wife had a glass of sangria with some winter species that she really enjoyed. Our meal was first rate and the fish dishes all fresh. The soup deJour was especially good. We... More

If the line out the door doesn't convince you, hopefully this review will. If you like raw stuff, this is the place for you. Carefully selected oysters, creatively prepared crudo and small plates...and yes, caviar. All served by knowledgeable and friendly staff. They'll even tell you what kind of oysters are on your plate and what kind of finish they... More

This is a true culinary gem at the heart of Newburyport! The best of New England cuisine is right here. Most portions are small but always tastefully presented. All around elegant and artful. I would only recommend changing the bar stools and making the seating cozier in general (some more pillows and blankets on the seats....)! Outside seating should be... More

Overall nice restaurant. They respect and like the food they serve. I went for lunch with my son. I had raw oysters and my son had mussels with fries. Every thing fresh and good quality. However, I would like to complain about the fact that there was no bread serving at lunch time? Not sure the reason. But what ever... More
