Don't go here if you want to talk -- noise is the major drawback so ask to be seated way in the back or outside. BUT the food is good and mid-priced, lots of different beers -- not gourmet but all your basics and reasonable service. It's up State Street in downtown Newburyport - three-minute walk on the west side... More

Good food and drink. It's up State Street so it does not get a lot of tourist. A hidden gem for date night and to hang out. Plenty of TV to watch games.

Saturday night -- prompt service, not too noisy and hot, good food. What's not to like? The small salads are more than ample ( the Tricolore was really tasty). Go with the solids -- shepherd's pie, beef stew and fish and chips were all hits at our table and eagerly shared. The onion soup was nothing special. Onion rings were... More

It's a pub out front, sidewalk seating in the warm weather. I like the menu, it's got the sports going at the bar, but you can sit away from it pretty easily if you want less action. Go.

Great selection of beer on the counter. Great service. It's a shame they do not serve food very late at night.

You don't go to The Port Tavern for a world class dining experience. You go to get a reasonably priced meal, a great choice of beers, the local vibe, and friendly service. You get all of the later at the The Port Tavern. This place get a very busy when the Boston teams are on tube, so lunch or early... More

We didn't have much time, the waitress was understanding, super friendly and she quickly took out order. We had delicious poutine and a flatbread. Would definitely go back! If you're wondering what poutine is, it's a comfort food, French fries with caramelized onions, mushrooms, in a delicious sauce with melted cheese, yum.
