This place has been around about 100 years. Good solid breakfast (bacon & eggs, omelets etc.) Quick service at the Auburndale gem! Coffee is included in the breakfast specials too.

Cute diner, pretty small. They have maybe six tables and about ten seats at the bar area. I got buttermilk pancakes and they were pretty good. They kept falling apart, which is different than I am used to. Nothing special about the breakfast, but the price is right.

What a fun place in Newton. Small diner with a few booths and counter service. Boston sports theme. Known for breakfast (served all day) we were there for lunch and enjoyed their lunch fare. My bacon cheeseburger and fries were very good. My dining companions raved about the chicken salad sandwich and BLT wrap (a great twist on the BLT.... More

This tiny diner embodies everything classic about a traditional diner breakfast. That's a good thing! Don't ask about giving your name to a hostess, don't ask what kind of teas they have, don't expect an extended fold-out menu. But do expect fresh and freshly prepared basic breakfast fare served hot and fast. Be prepared to wait in line and stand... More

The Knotty Pine is the best breakfast diner in the area. The service is friendly and prompt and the food is excellent. Eggs are done just right- fried, scrambled or as omelettes. Somehow they get the bacon perfect. Nothing high end just great ingredients cooked to order just right and the coffee is pretty good too.

Excellent breakfast and lunch, not an upscale place, but a perfect local spot for those so inclined.

My sister and her husband, my nephew, his wife and three daughters and I have breakfast here, with the family that runs Knotty Pine, frequently. Some combination of us or all (although all takes 2 tables) are there at least once a week. Not always the same day. Breakfast is fast, good solid diner type fare. Coffee refills often. Smiling... You would think that a place that only serves breakfast and lunch would have those two meals nailed. That's not the case with The Knotty Pine. It has plenty of old diner funk, from the worn formica counter to the panelling of its name. The food, however, leaves a lot to be desired. While basic scrambled eggs were okay, the... More

A little hole in the wall diner that puts out good, delicious breakfast and lunch food. Specials everyday and quality service. A real local place where it seems that everyone knows everyone. and that's a good thing. Nice friendly people and good basic breakfast food and the prices are good too. Not cheap but very easy on the pocket book.

had a good breakfast here, but short on coffee. very pleasant staff, but one feels a little rushed to eat and get the next customer into the seat. I would have liked a second cup of coffee after my saturday night!
