We stayed at the John Carver hotel so we dined here for lunch and dinner plus ordered room service The food was great and the portion sizes were huge. I enjoyed every meal here even the liver with onions.

The food selection was good and it was decent food. The service was average. If you stay at the John Carver Inn it's a good option.

I recently attended a baby shower at the John Carver Inn. The hostess provided a breakfast buffet. The food was excellent and the buffet was replenished often. I believe Jamie , a very pleasant, helpful young man, assembled the juice glasses to spell out the baby's name. The waitresses, Amy and Molly, were fantastic. They smiled all throughout the party... We visited the Hearth & Kettle recently after not having been here for ages, and it was still pretty darn good. We went for breakfast, and were glad to see they (still) serve breakfast all day. Our food was good for the most part, although some of it could have been served a little hotter. The prices are okay. Our... More

I cannot imagine anyone saying there was nothing on the breakfast menu that they wanted. We both brought half of our food home and finished it up the next day.

Prices for breakfast are outrageous. Will not return. I will say the bacon was very good but the pancakes were over cooked and the coffee was cold.

We ate here several time at breakfast and dinner on the night of arrival. Food was plentiful but the decor definately needs attention. Similarly, each time we must have caught staff on a bad day because both times the word grumpy comes to mind! Would I I recommend it, probably not. Customers like to feel welcomed not as though they... More

Large menu. Fireplace. We used both of our John Carver $10 vouchers. Waitress very accommodating, informing us of specials and substitutions. We were not rushed. We returned for breakfast. I only wanted English muffin and bacon but she informed it would be better to get the special for the money!
