The view is still wonderful, but the new owners have not been able to keep the same standard as the original owner, Myalisa Waring. On a couple of occasions this past summer, the clams were over fried, hard, small and tasteless. Maybe next season, the new folks will find their groove.

We've eaten at many other lobster shacks in Maine that were better than The Lobster Pool. The lobster roll was good but not special. This meal was expensive. Fortunately we had a Groupon. The view from the restaurant was okay. Obviously this restaurant survives because tourists visiting Rockport think they will be eating at the quintessional lobster shack with great... More

we were told on line that this place had the best lobster roll in USA. I am sorry but the lobster was cold, but tender and sort of nice taste. there are a number of places hat we have gone that were much better then this sorry.

I do not understand the positive reviews of this restaurant! We stopped there for lunch and we should have turned around and walked out the door!! What I can't believe is that someone recommended it to us! We should have figured out after going to the "backyard"and seeing the disgusting dirty tables and how the area was not taken care... More

This is the first restaurant that we go to when visiting Cape Ann for 43 years. Rustic and the food is fresh and delish. Self serve and picnic style inside or enjoy the outsides overlooking the ocean and beautiful sunset as you tear into a succulent lobster. Great for kids.

After a few days in Rockport, we were ready for a quiet place to eat. This was the place. We sat outside at a picnic table. Fries and fish were fresh. My mom ordered a small shrimp plate and it was heaping with food. I had the lobster roll. We sat and watched the sun set.

Classic Cape Ann seafood fare (fried and boiled) is the heart of this small, rustic eatery. A simple screened-in dining area gives ocean views, or you can eat on picnic tables outside. Naturally, lobsters and lobster rolls are the main attraction here. The pricing is OK...not cheap but but comparable to other tourist restaurants in the area. The only real... More

From the rustic building to a great outdoor seating along the waterfront you do not get anymore authentic than The Lobster Pool in Rockport. It gives you all the New England vibes you can imagine. Plan on sharing a picnic table with strangers and spending a little more extra on seafood but you can't beat the experience! This place has... More

This place is terrible and every year is worse than the year before. Once bitten twice shy; we gave them another change but this time NEVER Again. Food is super expensive and bland. The fries are terrible, the clams are not edible, we left our plates untouched. No one can miss a lobster but get it at Market basket steamed... More

Went there with my family and everyone had the fish and chips, probably the worst I've ever eaten and not a cheap meal ($17.50 for one meal of what was essentially take out). Fish was bland and chips were just not good. We also noted the sewage smell that others have noted but once we moved to a table further... More
