The staff was sweeping while we were trying to eat our food with a whisk broom it was disgusting and the waitress could not be bothered to come over and check on our meal

The blueberry pancakes were very good by the rasher of bacon was a bit dry and uninspireing. It's a great local tavern and perfect if you are going/coming to the Vineyard Haven Ferry to Woods Hole.

Creaky floors ,nautical decor ,water view....Love this place! Lobster is great and chowder to die for ! Eat here at least once whenever I am on the island.Love to watch the ferry coming in and out as we dine.

Food was very good and the serving size was huge!! Waitress was really good and the staff was very friendly. Atmosphere was charming with a great fireplace for cool days.

We recently stopped at The Black Dog Tavern after arriving by ferry to Martha's Vineyard. It is a few feet from the ferry dock. The cafe has the feel of an old tavern even though it doesn't serve alcohol. There are pictures of tall ships and nautical items. We had very good eggs Benedict and pancakes. Ask for a seat... More

I had the grilled swordfish and the only thing that tasted good was the green beans! The idea of the plate is interesting, but the execution which considering of how much it was charged for the plate, c. $31, it was pretty poor... there are better options to explore in Oak Bluffs and Edgartown... Obviously, I dont plan to come... More

We were here pretty early in the day and had the breakfast menu. It was really amazing! It's much smaller inside than I would have thought and everything was original inside. Don't be scared of the crazy wait times. The food comes out quick!

While visiting family on the island, one of our stops was The Black Dog. It was quite busy with mostly locals as tourist season has ended and many places are closing. Service was good and the food was tasty. A bit pricy but worth it.
