Thought the menu was too short and since they only specialized with German cuisine, i thought it was too limited. Closed now and up for foreclosure

I'm not sure why you, "Barrylb." are posting a review right now, August 2016, if in fact our restaurant has been closed since Spring of 2015, so at least 18 months, which makes it simply impossible for you to have had a menu that was too short and limited as you mentioned, and on top are claiming that it is... The food was fantastic except for the choclate truffle which was a hard cup cake.. Service was not very good. The new guy seemed to be more interested in the fancy pants dining there. Waited a long time to get the tiny portion on desert. German food is the best and at 160 dollars for two your waiter should be... More

Considering the Chef is from Germany, why bother with American fare. The Sauerbraten was just spectacular. With the right mix of sour from the vinegar marinade to the richness of the beef, to its tenderness. A great balance of sour and sweet. Of course, there were the wonderful appetizers that preceded it. The chef's Country Pate is so rich and... More

Superb ingredients, friendly service and wonderful recipes make for an overall excellent dining experience. We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at the Williamsville Inn and it was one to remember. We especially loved the soups and the wiener schnitzel.

Let's not get ecstatic. For most of my fellow Americans, who consider a tv dinner good food, this is top notch eatery. And don't get me wrong, I am not trying to diminish culinary talents of chef Erhard. Everything was delicious, but as in most cases, one insignificant detail can ruin the evening. I am talking about wine, my date... More

As the owner of the Williamsville Inn & The Taste of Germany Restaurant, I'm always present in the dining room and ask guests if everything is fine. Nothing was mentioned when I went to the table, actually several times, so I regret that that glass of wine made them so unhappy to post a review instead of mentioning it to... More

The Williamsville inn in WestStockbridge ma, has been around for for decades. New ownership about 10 years ago have created a real gem. While I have never stayed at the inn I have dined ther regularly. An elegant dining area over looking master chef Erhard's kitchen through glass, is adjacent to the century old sitting room. The food is excellent.... More

We went here to celebrate an anniversary, and boy did we make the right choice. The October menu included wild mushroom soup (really, really good), Jaeger schnitzel (yummy) and the best goulash ever! We loved the "amuse bouche" which was ground salmon, leeks, and apples in a spreadable pate--such a nice surprise. The wine list is small but lovely and... More

Dinner at the Williamsville Inn is a true experience. The food is outstanding- Chef Erhardt is amazingly talented. There is a German influence in the menu, but there are many other choices. I enjoyed the sea bass. What makes the evening an experience is the beautiful, relaxed, unhurried atmosphere. There is a gracious space between the tables so you can... More

What a find in West Stockbridge! We could not disagree more with the previous reviewer....accessible fine dining in the heart of the Berkshires, beautifully appointed dining room with white table cloths and fresh flowers, a menu lovingly created by Chef Erhard. A reprieve from the helter skelter of many Berkshire restaurants at high season, the Williamsville Inn is Wendt family... More

Our stay there was very disappointing. First of all, the Innkeepers are very nice, but I felt they were always watching us like we were going to do something to their property. The breakfast was nothing great and did not even look too appetizing. I felt they were stingy about everything there, from the food to the "extras"that lot of... More

Management response:

Contrary to all other reviews that were posted for our award-winning Williamsville Inn (21 excellent reviews and more), it's obvious that this review is not only untrue but also mean and so unprofessional. The couple from Sugar Grove, IL, stayed with us June 19 - 21, for two nights, and only complimented us on everything. (property, Inn and breakfast) They... More
