I visited this restaurant with family on a very good October weekend. I had the shrimp tikka masala, which was very good, and the service was also very good. The music was nice and quiet, and did not interfere with chitchat. Overall very good value.

This Indian restaurant tucked into the campus of Williams College offers an extensive menu that provides a vegetarian or a vegan many options, along with the options available to meat eaters. Quiet music does not intrude on conversation, and the beer was sparkling cold! Tasty little crackers were served on each table, along with a tangy tamarind sauce. The vindaloo... More

A very nice Vindaloo sauce but the chicken was overcooked and dry as was a chicken tikka. Rather overpriced for the quality. A nice environment but watch out for loud and boorish students which can make the ambiance a little intrusive. Once again, a vindaloo with bits of potato which shows they really don't know what a vindaloo is.

We ate several times at Spice Root and enjoyed our meals each time. Spice levels are moderate. Owner is friendly. My husband liked the chicken masala!

Was curious to try Indian food in the Berkshires, it did not disappoint, did not stand out either. The service was good. Good location and parking on-street availability.

We ate there twice. The food is better than many Indian restaurant we've been to, and the service is very professional, too.

Best Chicken Korma I've ever had, and their mango lassis are AMAZING. They also offer a lunch buffet that is affordable and excellent.

I get to eat here only once per year when I am visiting and I so look forward to it. Some of their dishes are my favorite and some are my 2nd favorite. There is no 3rd or beyond. Just a nice atmosphere, outstanding food, great bread.... I can not say enough about how much I love eating here. I... More

I googled best restaurants and this one did not come up for me. At the same time, without me knowing my sister was doing the same thing and Spice Root did come up. It was delicious and the service was wonderful. I'm so glad we found it!

Perfectly prepared, my lamb curry was among the best I've had. I asked for it "American medium" spice, and it was lovely. My husband's lamb chops were not to our liking, however--strangely tasteless, and overcooked. Samosas of peas and potatoes were the best thing we ate on our trip.
