I bought a key lime pie for a birthday celebration. It was excellent but costly and then they charged another few dollars to write "happy birthday" on it. Not impressive when they charge almost $20 for a pie.

I ordered whole pies for Thanksgiving, and we also tried some individual pieces. The crust on the 2-crust pie is homemade quality, tender and flaky. Michigan 4-berry pie is really a standout. Store employees were friendly and cheerful at the end of a long day the day before Thanksgiving. I've been bringing pies home to grandma's for a few years... More

It's simply pie heaven. Crust is fantastic. Fruit is fresh and delicious. My favorite is strawberry rhubarb. Just bought a no sugar (or any other sweetener) Michigan 4 Berry and it was great, tart, full of flavor, no sugar in the crust either. A guiltless treat. I haven't tried their cream pies because their fruit pies are so yummy. Note... More

Achatz is pretty expensive - but I seem to always find the money! There are all kinds of pies by the slice or the full pie. I recommend pretty much all of them - but you must try the sugar free apple and 4-berry pie. They taste like the actual fruit - which is amazing!

Absolutely the BEST homemade pies that one can buy in a retail. This company started out with just one or two locations due to the fact the family hand made the pies. Then it grew, but the authenticity of the pies remained true to their home-goodness flavors. It is a must stop.

I ordered a slice of peach pie. The crust was tasteless and the filling tasted of white vinegar! I remember eating a slice of blueberry pie last year which was fair but not what I would rate a five star piece of pie! I believe most people may have 'pie in their eyes' pardon the pun! Also, I bought a... More

Any pie you pick will be excellent. You can find some of their pies at Kroger, but their store will have many more choices.

Best pies ever but try the lobster and the corn beef & cabbage pot pies. They're really very tasty and as good as the sweet pies they're know for.

If you are a pie-aholic like I am, Achatz is the best place for pie. I have even tried their chicken pot pie and it is delicious. I have yet to have a pie from there that disappoints. Some of my favorites are the Key Lime Pie, the Michigan 4 Berry Pie and the French Silk. Reasonably priced, fantastic staff... More

Several locations for these outstanding homemade pies. The best we have ever had. They are large, a bit pricey, but well worth it. Our favorite is the Michigan 4-berry with the crumble top (so not quite as many calories), but the apple is a close second, and others are equally tasty. Every time we share one with someone they fall... More

Pie making may soon become a lost art. But at Achatz Handmade Pie Co. We still do things the old fashioned way. Many of our recipes have been passed through generations, and we continue the tradition by sharing the same handmade techniques instilled in our childhood. Achatz pies are made with pure and natural ingredients. We never use chemicals, preservatives or hydrogenated oils. And much of our fruit, flours, sugar and dairy are purchased from local farms. These values result in a top quality product even grandma can be proud of. We started baking from our Victorian home in Armada, Michigan, in 1993. After moving our operation to a nearby ten-acre apple orchard, Achatz Handmade Pie Co. Was officially born. To this day we've maintained our high standards to produce a pie that we believe is simply the best. Our pies have been featured on Food Network, the Rachael Ray Show and Good Morning America Weekend, winning numerous national and local awards. But they're still down-to-earth, all natural and wholesome. We're keeping it real and we invite you to taste the difference.
