Unique menu, most items in the $11 range. Memorable. Free loaf of bread to go if you advise its your first visit!

A great place to have a really good lunch. The sour dough bread is really great too. It is a small place in a small town., but lovely people.

Great little place, not much seating. Had a half roast beef sandwich, very flavorful. Matched with a root salad...Beets, goat cheese, candied pecans, fresh greens. Very well put together. Does not have speciality coffees like mochas but offers baked goods and higher end donut's. Highly recommend this place.

We had a very nice meal in this very busy restaurant; but it was noisy. I had the apple pumpkin bacon soup, and it was great. Like chili in consistency, you could smell the bacon. My wife had the warm veggie salad, and it was full of roasted veggies over greens with a wonderful house made dressing. Worth the visit.

Stopped in for lunch, right at noon, so was quite busy. Only waited about 10 minutes. I had a special, the roasted pumpkin breakfast bowl. It was delicious! Husband had a Dearborn ham, au gratin potato, and egg sandwich. Again...delicious! Menu changes often, they said. We were happy we stopped at the Blue Heron Cafe!

My friends and I stopped at this quaint little café for lunch during a day trip to Cadillac, MI and were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent cuisine, friendly service and awesome bakery with delicious fresh-baked goodies! Highly recommend this gem to anyone in the Cadillac area or just passing through as we did. We can't wait to go back... More

Looks like a great place, but no meals after 3 although hours say closes at 4. We didn't try any food because we made a special trip off expressway trying to arrive before close and got there at 3:30. We asked for menu but we're turned down because "kitchen closes at 3". Would be helpful to post proper hours online... More

The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.
