Stopped for a quick coffee break after a walk over from Watlendeth, friendly staff and a lovely little garden to sit in the sunshine.

Good cup of tea welcome at end of walk. Friendly and interesting staff. Better than the local hostelries for cost.

We stopped here for morning tea when we were half way through a walk. Wasn't very busy. We sat around the back looking out over a paddock. We had a pint of tea each

On Sunday 11th December my wife and I intended to walk in Borrowdale and visit the Flock Inn for lunch, as we have in the past, rather than carry a packed lunch on our walk in Borrowdale. Being a quiet period in the Lakes we checked its website first to make sure it was open, and according to the page... More

Nestled in the beautiful hill side this is a great no nonsense cafe, which mainly caters for walkers. Simple menu of wonderful home cooked soup, stew, pasties and sandwiches.

Great spot recommended to us by a local, as with the repair being made to rotheswaite bridge you wouldn't think you could cross the River Derwent to get to the cafe, you can just 400yds beyond the bridge. A must is the garden which has a an undercover outdoor seating area with stunning views.

Very friendly staff and pastie and ham sandwiches were great. What a great position. Very handy for the castle crag walk made famous by the great AW.

Have visited here a few times in the last year and decided to take a trip today as we had a day off work. We were lucky enough to secure the last two Herdy pasties and sat outside in the sunshine (yes sunshine!) to enjoy them, and enjoy them we did! Beautiful homemade short crust pastry stuffed to the hilt... More

Leaving the 78 bus in Rosthwaite, we took a short stroll up to this little cafe, recently recommended to us. We enjoyed the most amazing flapjacks with our filter coffee, sitting in an intimate garden looking down Borrowdale and enjoying the company of many hedge birds.
