Seven of us had a wonderful family celebration at Abhi's.The food was outstanding with special commendations given to Seafood Molli,Goat Curry,Lamb Khorma, Masala Dosa and Palak Chaat .The only disappointing dish out of 9 ordered was the Chicken Biriyani.A potato, pumpkin and tomato dish was delicious.Corkage...was $4 per person.I would highly recommend this first rate restaurant, the best Indian restaurant at which we have eaten.More
I found customer service appalling ,parking was difficult and menu was limited especially for vegetarian meals I also found prices were high compared to other good Indian restaurants with better location we would not visit this place any time soon
20% Price Hike accompanied by a 20% Food Reduction has been applied and in force. The mantra over the last two years was 'support your local' but regrettably 'our local' has rewarded us with daylight robbery. There is a point where your price point peaks...and Abhi's have reached it and the smaller portion sizes just took you over the edge. Cannot justify EVER returning.More
Supperb Supperb Supperb every thing was A1 from Greeting to seating to service. Has been my favourite for more than 25 years. Would recommended to anyone and everyone. Thanks Abahj for another great meal last weekend.
Abhi was recommended for a group of 9 friends. It was busy, service was attentive, didn’t feel forgotten given our group size on a Fri night. We weren’t too familiar with Indian food, and we had entree, main, dessert and coffee. I look forward to...taking my extended family here. Vegan options available, didn’t have a vegan dessert, yet. Upstairs seating also, however we were downstairs which we liked. This local venue was a pleasant surprise. Thankyou for your hospitality, all your staff were lovely, professional and courteous.More
We had an incredible work dinner/function here and the entire evening was out of this world. The service was a bit short-staffed, but they were still very impressive to be serving two floors of restaurant. The butter chicken was absolutely brilliant and the lightness and...crispiness of the papadams were unmatched by any I've ever eaten anywhere else. Absolutely wonderful dining experience.More
We have been here many times but it had been a few years since we had been. However since we have reacquainted ourselves and the Westconnex makes it a very quick and stress free trip from Ashfield, we will come much more often. The service...was friendly and efficient and the food is as excellent as I remember. Masala dosa, chicken thigh tikka and seekh kebab for entree and lamb shoulder khorma (yes it was really lamb shoulder) and chicken varutha with basmati and naan was a wonderful feast. Highly recommend all these. A good wine list, although they also accept BYO wine $4pp. A most enjoyable dinner!More
A friend of mine has been going here for years and rated the food on a high scale. I was craving butter chicken so went for a feed. I can’t fault their food what so ever. It was full off flavour and I didn’t walk...away feeling gross of full. I had the butter chicken with a lil bit of basmati and some butter naan bread with spinach leaves fried in chickpea flour which is gluten free. It was all so yummy. The restraunt was clean aswell and staff very nice. It was a full house. I think this place is always packed.More
Pretty good flavours and ingredients, nothing special. Chicken dish was a bit bland, eggplant one was better. Serves are small. Similar to my local Indian and Pakistani places but costs 2-3 times as much.
You know when you show up at 8.30 pm on a Monday night and the place is almost full that this restaurant must be doing plenty right. The food is always very good. It is a little on the pricey side though. We had two entrees...and two mains and all of them I would recommend. The two starters were the palak patta chaat and the chatpata squid and the two mains were the beef ambotik and the chicken makhni. I loved all four dishes. The food is really good, just expected to pay a bit more.More
I love Indian food, and this one was hot and spicy (too spicy for me). Nice atmosphere but I felt the meal was quite expensive.
We had a banquet for 7, food was tasty and not so spicy that the flavours were killed by a chilli hot. Service was good. BUT, there was absolutley no social distancing especially at the entrance/exit. Did not feel at all comfortable. Pity, it was...a worrying end to a good mealMore
We spent our wedding anniversary in lockdown but picked up our favourite dishes to relive a holiday to India - even a dosa pancake full of fragrant potato travelled OK. Dal Makhani also a favourite, and all left overs delicious the next day. Yum.
I’d heard this place was superb. I gave it a try on a Monday night at around 8:30. There were around 12 diners. I wasn’t hungry enough for a starter so I ordered a lamb dish with whole Garam Masala from the specials and basmati...rice and a garlic naan as accompaniments. As i was on my motorcycle (P plate) I said I would just have water. Rather than placing a bottle on the table, this place likes to give the air of fine dining by having the waiting staff observantly replenish the diners (small) glasses. I waited and waited but the waiting staff (two very young girls) didn’t seem capable of multi tasking and I had to walk to the bar and replenish my own water. To compensate for an obvious mistake, one of the waitresses asked me if I’d like more bread or rice, despite it being abundantly clear that I had plenty. This wasn’t my biggest issue. The price for a main dish was the best part of $30- the sauce was interesting and tasty but the ‘quality’ of the meat was poor. A good deal of fat and gristle and the meat was not tender at all as good lamb should be. The total for rice/naan/lamb dish was $40. This would be fine (I’ve paid the same and more for high end Indian food many times). My issue was that at no point in the proceedings did anyone seek to discover what I thought of my meal and whether I was happy with it. This appeared to be of (the square root of) no interest to anyone. I’m astounded and in fact I think it’s the height of rudeness and arrogance for a restaurant to fail to train its staff to enquire as to the degree of satisfaction of the customer. This was both the first Bs the very last time I’ll be dining at Abhi’s.More
