I was excited to have lunch here, but we ended up stuck in the claustrophobic bar. Service was poor, we had to wait for a menu and to order. The food was substandard and we even found someone else meal on our plate bottom. TheTiramisu did not cut it, the lady fingers were only around the outside and it left... More
The last 3 times we ate at Roma, the food was not hot; (actually, one dinner, the ravioli was ice cold). We had dinner on Thurs. night 11/10/16, and I told the waiter about our 2 previous experiences. He said he was sorry and would inform the kitchen. The reason I told him up front was to express our interest... More
The evening started off not so well. We had a reservation that seemed to be ignored. The restaurant was very crowded and we waited and watched as regular patrons were seated and attended to almost immediately upon arrival. Once seated, we waited an additional 30 minutes before we were greeted by our waiter and I am thinking we got him... More
Arrived early for a 6pm dinner reservation. Roma Cafe was packed at 5:30 but we were able a get a seat at the bar until our table was ready. The bartender was pleasant and brought our drinks quickly. Our table was ready promptly at 6:00 and our waiter Jeff appeared immediately to offer menus and suggest appetizers. We had the... More
Roma Cafe has been around for over 100 years and serves generous portions of good old school Italian. Close to Eastern Market, it feels like it's always been there. If you're looking for the latest trendy place, this isn't it. Go for good service, home style veal, fish and pasta the way it's always been made. Comfortable atmosphere that yes,... More
Went there for lunch on a Monday afternoon. Easten market is closed on Monday so the restaurant was very very slow. My sister ordered the chicken and eggplant Parmesan which is chicken Parmesan and eggplant Parmesan both on the plate. It is served with a side of spaghetti with meat sauce. Was about $14. The eggplant parmesan was delicious and... More
We enjoyed lunch after visiting the market. We were greeted and seated very quickly. Our waiter cane right over and filled our water glasses. He took our order pretty quickly too. We had burger & fries, Alfredo and lasagna. The burger was a customer favorite... I wasn't impressed. The Alfredo and lasagna were excellent. It was pricey considering no salad... More
Great authentic Italian cuisine at a good price. Roma cafe serves tasty dishes from Made by chefs from Italy. Relax with a drink of your choice, an antipasto or minestrone soup, and of course, desert after your meal completes the experience.
The food it okay, but not that great. Not worth the money. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. The staff was nice and friendly. But the restaurant was so hot! Tiramisu was not that great either. Opened in 1880. So the history portion is great. And I do love the Eastern Market nearby.
