Started coming here 15 years ago for lunch when I worked at AT&T on Michigan Avenue. Now, retired, I come here with my family and it is one of OUR favorite places to dine at in downtown Detroit. Brought my family down to celebrate Mothers Day, there were some wonderful specials happenin and we were pleased. My wife had the... More

I have heard about the Sweetwater Tavern but never had a chance to stop by until now. When you enter from the front door it is several big steps up into the tavern. Once in side your eyes taken in the warmth of the tavern with the old rich wood paneling. There is a bar and some booths in the... More

I sat at the bar and was served immediately. I ordered the ribs and wings combo. When the food came the rib meat was falling over the side of the plate and some fell out because it was so tender. The sauce was good, but the tenderness of the meat was out of this world. The wings are very unique... More

We have heard the rave reviews about the Wings at the Sweetwater tavern. so we decided to try on Feb 26 2017. To start we could not get a table but the waiter was more than willing to accommodate us when one became available. When we did get seated the service was slow, not the same waiter, but a waitress.... More

I travel across the country throughout the year for business, eating in lots of restaurants and this is my first terrible rating. Walk in and seat yourself which is fine, but it's downhill from there. It was an effort for my server to wait on me, a puss the entire time, couldn't care less about checking on me throughout the... Great local restaurant a couple of blocks in from the river front and a short walk from Greektown... Great selection of local beers and as the title states, the best wings in the midwest!!

Went after concert at St. Andrews with my family & friends. Atomsphere and attitude from staff was unwelcoming to say the least. They didn't even acknowledge us and was told by another patron we didn't belong there! We weren't the right race apparently so be aware I guess if you decide to give this place a try.

Food and services are not excellent but good... the atmosphere and environment are amazing. In there you can feel the character of Detroit. People are so friendly and thanks to them you can learn a lot about the Motor City

A tiny place that was packed at 7pm on Saturday night! Our table had wings, meatloaf, and fish and chips. Everything was reported as delicious. They are famous for their wings. Also, this place has the best tasting water (it's Detroit water!).

Thought the food and atmosphere was great for a dive bar in Detroit. Had Sunday lunch which was moderately priced and tasted good. Solid 4 stars. Great chicken wings
