I have eaten there before and wished it was as good as then.. We were the only people there, give it that it was almost nine pm. The rolls were not tight and the rice fell apart. The fish was perfect but the rice disappointed us. We order the sushi boat, the variety was very good and the service was... More

Whenever I'm in Grand Rapids (I stay at the nearby Springhill Suites) I stop at Mikado. Love the Big Pink roll and this time I tried the Kimchi roll. Good but could have been spicier. Staff always friendly which is a big plus for me

Took a customer here as he had never been. The sushi is always great, the rolls are really good and the service has been more consistent lately. Me personally, I'm a huge fan of their pink monster and Vegas rolls.

Our Japanese exchange student was having a birthday, so we looked for a place to which we hadn't been before. Mikado is such a find--not only for folks with Japanese teenagers, but for anyone who loves sushi, Teriyaki, Tempura, etc. The decor is airy and bright with beautiful Japanese art panels, and the service was perfect!

I have eaten here before and I have liked it. Service was not always that good but I have liked the food. I took a co-worker here from out of town and he wanted Japanese food. We tried here and we were seated. We waited over 20 minutes and nobody came to the table. Nobody even tried to stop at... More

I've been coming here since I was a kid and it's never failed to disappoint me. Simple dishes such as Salmon Teriyaki is just so good. The salad that comes with the bento has a unique taste. One small thing is that the waiters/waitresses/cooks don't speak Japanese as they are Korean, so speaking in Japanese won't make the order faster.... More

After trying Ju sushi and the sushi bar at the downtown market, our standards for sushi had gone up. I guess I expected more from this place after reading the wonderful reviews, but once I walked in, it is another story. First of all, everything look dated and no one was dining on a Friday evening at 6:30pm, a little... More

This place is amazing. The sushi is prepared as you wait. We had about 6 different types. We also had tempura shrimp. The best I've had in awhile. Go out of your way to try this place.

In Grand Rapids the food scene is relatively young, at least compared to larger cities; therefore, good sushi is hard to find, and great sushi is even harder. Mikado sushi is the only sushi in Grand Rapids that I would consider great. Their sushi, sashimi, and nigiri is much more traditional than other options in the area, and it is... More
