Small town bar with very good food and specialty beers. Prices on the high side. Diner specials always tasty, and great burgers, and pizza to watch the games. I visit once a month usually. Only downside is not an overly friendly bar and most staff and patrons seem to have an attitude. Can't single out the bar though, whole town seems a little unfriendly.

Chauney's Pub is a local pub and looks every bit the part. The food was fine, though a bit overpriced for some items. The Deep Fryer sees a lot of action here! I was pleasantly surprised by my pizza - which is also one of the more value-centric items - and the breadsticks our table shared. The pizza is good. The subs are good. Most of the other food is fine.

At times the food is okay, I guess it depends on who’s cooking, service could use some attention,,,prices some what high for a local tavern,$$$$,upgrade the seating arrangements. Otherwise it’s OKAY

Got food to go. Chili burger was nasty. Extremely dry and the top bun was under chili not even on burger. I didn’t get the correct sides or any for that matter. Their ranch tastes spoiled. Disappointing food and took almost 40 minutes

Service was slow. Local hangout. Good pizza. Chairs were torn should invest in better quality seating.

We ate here a couple of times, its the "local" in Hillman. They have a small but good range of beers and we found some good food to eat here esp the club sandwich. They have a pool table as well.

Stopped at Chauncey's after a long day of fishing, so we were STARVING! Each ordered a sub, then realized they are each 13" long. Yikes! Also ordered the combo basket- onion rings, mushrooms, moz sticks, mini tacos. All great and great service.

Group of 6 ate here before the start of Murder Mystery Weekend at nearby Thunder Bay Resort. Fish and baked potato was very good, no complaints. The place was packed, so that is always a goid sign. Had the pizza last time we stayed at Thunder Bay as well, also very good. Old fashioned "up north" kind of place. Large servings, come hungry.

Heard a lot about the chicken wings and wanted to check them out. They were wing dings not chicken wings and the cheese bread was not impressive. The beer selection was good and the place was packed. One of the only places to eat in Hillman. Just okay.

Happened to stop at this tavern by accident. Comfortable, clean, friendly place. Family friendly. It was Monday night and turned out there was a special on pizza. It was very good and reasonably priced!! Courteous, helpful staff. Not real busy, so timing was good. Would definitely try this tavern again.

We ate there twice. The first time I ordered a BLT which was tasty, but not extraordinary. While we were eating, we kept watching people order pizzas that looked fabulous. The next night we went back to try the pizza. All I can say is "WOW"! I could almost drive the 6 hours to have another. My husband did go back and get another although he didn't drive 6 hours to get it. If you go there, order pizza. It will leave you wanting more.

I have been to ALOT of bbq places, we have a very good one in our home town, but i had the rib special on thursday night, June 30th 2016 to be exact. These were the best "fall off the bone ribs" with the perfect bbq sauce. I will be back just for the ribs. They came with fries i think i ate 5, I couldn't get over the ribs. My 10 year old son at all of his ribs also (no fries either). Service was slower because it was fairly busy, worth every minute!!! BEST RIBS EVER!!!!!

We stopped here for lunch on our way home from a camping trip. There was no wait at all on a mid-day summer Wednesday. The very friendly bartender was the only person on staff. We were able to sit down right away. The atmosphere of the bar is great, with a lot of wood features (the bar stools, bar table, and two-top tables were great wood features). The menu is not extensive - it is bar food that can be prepared on a small grill right behind the bar. Between the four of us, we ended up with a Spicy Wing basket, a cheeseburger, a small pizza, and a shrimp basket. Overall, the food was decent - it was "typical" bar food, but good. My only complaint is that the wings were breaded and fried, whereas my preference is without the breading....but I didn't ask about how they were prepared, so this is really no fault of the places'. Overall, a good lunch stop.
