Best views of the lake. Can eat and drink on the deck over looking the lake weather permitting. Beautiful dining area. Food was fresh flavorful and delicious. We had the walleye special and crab cakes. Superb! The waitress was very friendly and accommodating ! Only open seasonally and call for reservations.

My wife and I ate here for dinner, we both had the fillet mignon. I had mine with blue cheese crust, she opted for the steak with out it. The steaks were juicy and delicious, as expected and came with garlic mashed potatoes and zucchini. The mashed potatoes were to die for! But the zucchini was a bit mushy.

The Inn has guest room as well as a restaurant. We stayed 3 nights in a room with a lake view. Room was very clean and the king bed was comfortable.
It was nice to sit on the guest deck and enjoy the morning quiet.
The restaurant is only open for dinner so a breakfast box, with fruit, bread and pastries, was provided each morning.
The food at the restaurant is First Rate and the service is excellent!! Very extensive menu.
My only suggestion would be to have a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.
We would stay here again.

We visited this restaurant with 2 other couples on a weeknight and had a wonderful table out on the deck with a marvelous view of Lake Hubbard. Our server, Poppy, was charming. The food, however, was mediocre. The lobster bisque and the crusty bread were delicious, and the Michigan house salad with pecans, dried cherries, and blue cheese crumbles would have been tastier if some of the lettuce had not been wilted, and if it had more dressing. All the entrees were lacking. The prime rib had a great deal of fat on it and not much seasoning. The crab cakes tasted more frozen than homemade. The blackened salmon was fairly good. Unfortunately, my husband’s whitefish with crab meat stuffing arrived almost 15 minutes after the rest of our entrees (the server was very apologetic and said the cook “ didn’t like the look of the first one he made, so he did a second one”) and was not good at all…lots of black skin on the fish, crab meat stuffing that tasted canned, and lukewarm overall. They did take that meal off the bill when we requested it. Despite the beautiful setting, we don’t plan on returning to the restaurant.

We stopped here after golf and had a fabulous meal, lobster and prime rib. My husband said it was the best prime rib he ever had (and he orders it regularly from great steakhouses like Rochester Chop House and Stoney River). The French Onion soup was outstanding. This might be one of the best places to eat up north outside of Traverse City, we were thrilled to find it. And a shout out to our terrific server, Cooper! We will definitely be back.

it used to be good, but something bad happened. its out of line in price for poor food quality. if you want good food in a great atmosphere, dont get sucked in at this place. prime rib is like rubber,

See my review on their homepage, 6 of us for anniversary dinner, everything from appys, to dinners were outstanding and everyone was so impressed by owners and family. This is a treasure not to be missed in Northern Michigan.

I can't say enough about this restaurant!! The atmosphere, the food and the staff were top notch. It truly is a hidden gem. Can't wait to make a return visit. Thank you for a wonderful meal!!!

We had an excellent dinner and have recommended it to all of our friends. Several have already said it was the best dinner they had eaten in all of Northern Michigan. The entire experience was perfect. The Chef had great food andany menu options. The staff were great and made our Anniversary one to remember.

Went with friends for anniversary celebration. Excellent food, beverages, service, and ambience. Beautiful view overlooking Hubbard Lake. Waitstaff very friendly and efficient.
I would say that this is one of the finest dining establishments in northeast Michigan, if not THE finest.

We celebrated our anniversary with another couple. We had a table by the window overlooking Hubbard Lake. It was a lovely view, even though it was raining during our dinner. We ordered escargot for appetizers. The menu features steaks, prime rib, various seafood and lobster, pork, pasta and vegetarian dishes along with appetizers, soups, salads and dessert. They have a lunch menu and serve alcohol, too. There is outdoor dining when the weather cooperates. Our service was top notch and leisurely. The food was prepared just as we ordered and plentiful. The restaurant is in a rural setting, a diamond in the rough. They have a small hotel next to the restaurant and a gift shop, too. You won't be disappointed here.

A bit of a drive and off the beaten path but this restaurant is very good. Unlike many area restaurants that don't really develop true dishes and cooking, the menu here is original and well done with great favorites and yet good variety. We love the outdoor seating overlooking the lake. Very relaxing and the staff is very attentive. It can be a fancy meal if you want to make it that but mostly it's upscale casual. The only complaint would be that the outside tables and chairs are just plastic, not in keeping with the rest of the standard. Not a big deal but would be a nice improvement.

Superior localation in historic lakeside inn. Can eat inside or out. Must be very popular with locals as most people we saw arrived by boat. Excellent service. Delicious home made loaf of bread ( that we finished for breakfast). My wife had the prime rib that tasted right but was extra fatty. I had a steak saute that was good and made better by my wife's horseradish sauce. Delicious key lime pie. Drinks good as well.

We sat out on the deck where we could enjoy the lake. Our server, Piper, was very nice and gave us excellent service. We were disappointed that the pontoon boat was't available for rental but have plans to return!
