I spotted this place on a visit to Kalamazoo about five years ago and I've been meaning to stop in ever since. Went with my mom this weekend. We were intrigued by the menu enough to order three dishes and take home a ton of leftovers. We got satay, butter fried chicken (Ayam Goreng Mentega), and javanese Fried Noodles (Bakmi... More

For those that know of Indonesian/M'sian cuisine, this place should do the trick, given they are far and few in the US. Specifically owners/cook are Indonesian. Slight difference. Place is in a strip mall, small and unassuming. Total of 6 tables that'll seat a total of 14. While there, did notice quite a bit of carry outs. As mentioned, they... More

I have gone to this little restaurant a few times already and this is the best option so far for Southeast Asian food in town. That is, if you feel like Thai food, go to this Indonesian restaurant. It won't disappoint you in any way: it's cheap, non-pretentious and the food is delicious. Definitely worth a try.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and picked up food to go. We also wanted a bottle of wine and they gave us directions to a great wine shop just down the road. The food was wonderful - wish it was closer so we could go there more often.

I was not familiar with this style of food, so I went something safe.. Next time I'll try something more adventuresome. My friend had a spicy item and she likes spicy, it was spicy enough for her.

The food was great! We had it catered for a party and the food retained its great taste! The restaurant did really well with quality control on this big order! Everyone loved the food! And the party went very well! Would cater again! And highly recommend to others!

My friends and I love rasa ria! It's so great that this place exists in Kalamazoo. It's so nice to have a more rare cuisine available to us. The food is delicious and comes in good portion sizes , the prices are crazily low, and the staff/owners are so friendly! Great Malaysian and Indonesian food. Small area for seating, but... More

Just tried this place out with my son and his friend and I will go back to try other dishes. We all loved the curry puffs as an appetizer. This is 'storefront' style dining, so go pick out your own beverages from the cooler; order a really reasonably priced appetizer, and then start reading the fairly extensive menu. My son... More

A friend who had eaten Malaysian food in New York city referred us to Rasa Ria saying he liked it as much as at any Malaysian restaurant there. We did. We've gone there once weekly for years. We love as an appetizer the roti kanai with chicken curry. Don't forget the "pulled tea" to go with. My favorite dish is... More

The food was excellent and priced well. The servings were huge. I would recommend the Vegetable Lodeh and the pancake appetizers.
