Love it here. The food was great and so was the service. Very friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. Can't believe how different it looks from the old bar. Very reasonable prices, plus they have t.v. and keno! We plan on visiting again very soon!

It's always good to see a rebirth of a building into something more appealing that also serves delicious food. A building remembered as a beer joint near a golf course I occasionally visit has been transferred to a restaurant with food that I can highly recommend to families and friends. The old and rundown interior has been completely transformed into an attractive setting for serving their delicious menu or just for having drinks with friends. We both had delicious steak and chop dinners, the cook (Louis?) came out of the kitchen to check on how things were done, something you don't see often.

Went with friends familiar with the area. They all had their favorites, from the wet burrito to Trina' BBQ dishes. My wife and I each a a burger; hers featured guacamole and bacon, while mine bacon with a fried egg. You can build them as you like. They featured a "special" french fried potato, that I can't remember the name of and I can't research on their website (under construction). Reasonable prices; friendly staff; good food......an off the beaten path beauty!

First visit there with friends for dinner. Our party choose a variety of food off the menu. Including: hot turkey dinner - poor (shaved deli turkey), all you can eat fish (cod) - good, fettuccine with breadsticks- too dry but breadsticks good, boneless wings (buffalo) - good, and French fries - okay. The waitress was friendly but forgot to bring many items that were included with the meals. The wait for the food was long (they weren't especially busy). Appeared to be a friendly restaurant but had mixed feelings about a sign posted at the door: "We reserve the right to refuse service ".

I have enjoyed many delicious meals since Pappy's Pub opened last year. .. Pork chops, fish fry, pizza, prime rib, Trina's bbq ribs, burgers, shrimp, pasta, saganaki,..all good! It is totally updated and upgraded with a casual decor and a menu to please everyone's tastes. It has a new owner, Chuck, who is open to suggestions for new items and a friendly staff. Check out at Hwy. 65 and Werth Rd. Worth the drive from Alpena!

The salmon is great and comes with a high quality salad potato and really great white and cinnamon bread. My husband had the jumbo shrimp and he said it was great also.

The owner is disrespectful of local patrons. He even asked some farmers to leave because they were not up to his standards. I think he forgot where his food comes from. They changed the pork chop recipe and now they are awful...Over breaded, overcooked and dry.

Pappy took over the bar on this corner and completely remodeled it into a great place to eat and drink. The ribs are to write home about. We often get the 8 inch pizza and beer on tap. Every time I have been there Pappy is visiting the tables to be sure you are enjoying your meal. Family and local customers.

Our server, Chrissy, made us feel right at home and part of the family! My husband had the famous Trina's ribs and he said they were the best ribs he had in ages! I had nachos that were very tasty, only complaint--way to much for even an entire! Whew, I was stuffed! Pappy, the proprietor, stopped by our table and we had a great chat! He has done wonders for the dining scene in the greater Alpena area!

This newly remodeled restaurant located halfway between the Equator and the North Pole, has been opened since November 10, 2014. It has a very extensive menu, a first class bar, great service, three televisions for sporting events, and a dance floor. It is family oriented and a great place for a date or a special occasion. There is a nice cozy fireplace with a very comfortable atmosphere.
