I don't think we've been to Marquette visiting our NMU student without going to Sweet Water for a meal. Great selection and service. I had fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and it was so good!

First visit under the new ownership. My wife really had a craving for French toast so that is what we ordered. It was good (not exceptional) but there bacon was disappointing. We had ordered our bacon not crisp (knowing that is hard to do). Out r bacon turned out to be quite crispy and also kind of dried out like... More

I have been here three times now and I am simply done. I agree with the other reviews that the food is just bland. It is always well presented and looks nice, but the moment you take a bit it is a huge disappointment. On taste and flavor alone, this place is simply not worth the hefty price they ask.

We had dinner here twice while visiting Marquette. Both meals were creative and tasty. The service was good and the dessert was also yummy. I have also eaten lunch here in the past, and the salad I had was great. Would definitely return.

My husband has been here before. It was my first visit. We ordered soup, salad and entrees. Two tables, a group of 6 and a couple were seated 5-10 minutes after we ordered but their soup was delivered before we got anything. After we asked the waiter to check on our order, he returned to let us know they were... More

My wife and I had breakfast at Sweet Water a couple years ago. We left quite ambivalent....her dish was terrific, mine not so. So we came back for a second visit on a recent trip to Marquette. Again, the same reaction. My dish--a simple breakfast sandwich--was nicely done, and the locally-sourced bacon delicious. Her dish--a sort of oatmeal/grain/nuts medley--arrived tepid.... More

My girlfriend and I decided to try out Sweet Water and what a mistake that was. After we got sat it took about 10-15 minutes for the server to actually say anything to us. When she did finally acknowledge us she didn't introduce herself or even say anything besides "ready to order?" We both got the Cafe Scramble and that... More

I was in town for four days while my mother was in the hospital and desperate for fresh, healthy, delicious food. I am so grateful that I found Sweet Water Cafe. I ate there three days in a row and have to say they are a bright spot in an area with little to offer in the way of healthy... More

Description
Sweet Water Cafe is a natural foods restaurant, cafe, bakery, and bar in beautiful Marquette, Michigan serving good food made from scratch using whole, natural, organic, and local ingredients.

The philosophy of real food extends to everything on our menu. We select and purchase ingredients that are nearest their natural state; fresh, wholesome and full of nutrients. We then use these ingredients to make our menu, including breads, soups, sauces, entrees, dressings, desserts and cookies from our own recipes. No synthetically hydrogenated fats, artificial colors, flavors and preservatives are ever used in our cooking. The Cafe's staff of chefs, bakers, servers, cleaners and service managers take pride in carrying on the tradition of making good food from scratch, using natural, organic and local ingredients as much as possible.

You will find traditional and alternative food and drink. Our recipes and cooking techniques are derived from the diversity of Earth's cultures. Our style of "multicultural cuisine" represents a living art because it borrows from, rather than replicates, traditional ethnic cuisines. It is our mission to provide a broad spectrum of quality, freshly-prepared meals served quickly and professionally in a clean and smoke-free environment.
