Both the quesadillas and the vegetarian fajitas were pretty tasty and well served. The staff was very friendly and their recommendations were good.

We came here needing some decent vegetables and were more than impressed, will be going back tonight!!! The menu has a random array of ethnic dishes, but everything looked amazing and what we ordered was the most fabulous home cooked, generous meals. We were so happy, and a really decent price. Thank you so much!!

Well, that I've eaten at anyway. There is a large selection of different ethnic/vegetarian dishes. I've had three different options from the menu and was not disappointed by any! Large portions, well cooked, and awesome smoothies. When I was in yesterday, the owner (I'm assuming) hinted at a new menu coming out soon. Have had lunch and dinner there. Just... More

We had mixed results food wise. The falafel was lovely and huge, the other dish (indio viejo)just wasn't to our taste but was cooked fine. The service was excellent. The Dutch woman working their could not have been more friendly.

Thank you very much for your lovely words! Happy to hear you liked the falafel I`m sorry the Indio Viejo wasn`t your taste, It`s a typical Nicaraguan dish with a combination of flavors I never tasted before coming to Nicaragua. The first time I tried it I wasn`t confinced either, but now I really like it :-) Thanks again for... More

Delicious food served in a pretty place with great relaxed & welcoming vibe & staff - one of Leon's best. The Moroccan tajine is full of flavor & a nice change from the local fare. Nice things for sale & lots of informational materials about travel in Nicaragua to be found in the entry area.

Fantastic restaurant, great vibe. It's great to get 'off the grid' and visit this place! A bit more of a real Leon feel to the neighbourhood. Had the sizzling platter - huuuuge portion and yum! If you're vegetarian, this is a must in Leon. If not, there are some chicken dishes and many yum vege ones too!

Thanks a lot for your super nice review!! Hope your trip went well! I totally agree that the short walk trough the neighbourhood is a great way to see a bit of Nicaraguan life.. And people really don`t mind if you have a peek into their houses ... Thanks again! More

Great vegetarian options and nice drink menu. The food was plentiful. The location is a bit off the grid and it's easy to get lost in Leon's streets but worth the journey, especially if you are vegetarian/vegan and looking for something different.

A bit pricey, but a pleasant surprise if you're vegetarian because you can get traditional Nicaraguan dishes but without the meat.

I have eaten at CocinArte multiple times, because their menu is so diverse and creative and they seem to get all the dishes right. My personal favourite is the bami with 'saté-saus', I never expected to eat a good peanutbutter sause here in Nicaragua. Kris and the other ladies working there are very sweet and helpful. Description
CocinArte, the city's original vegetarian restaurant,is located in the oldest building of Leon (1620) a few blocks from Central park. The restaurant has a lovely green patio and soft world music is played which makes the restaurant a nice little escape from the buzzing streets of Leon. CocinArte specializes in international vegetarian dishes like falafel, pasta pesto, noodles with a mouthwatering peanut sauce or a flavorful Indian curry or chana masala. But you can also choose for a traditional Nicaraguan dish like Indio Viejo. The House special is "The CocinArte",a sizzling hot plate with sauteed veggie fajitas and vegetables. The menu offers smaller dishes like soups, quesadillas, tacos and salads For the carnivores there is a small selection of chicken dishes. Natural juices & milk shakes (without sugar!) are freshly made at the bar and a fine, strong organic coffee is served. All the food is made to order and ingredients are freshly cut. Packaging and take away is available. Open 12am -10pm, closed on Tuesdays.
