There are a lot of little restaurants in the region but this one is for sure one of my favourite! When you arrive in front of the venue you will be charmed for sure. It looks really cute from outside. Inside there is 3 different atmospheres. First the bar that look like a basic cafe. Then right behind you got... More

I haven't used this restaurant for almost two years as I moved from the area but used it on a regular basis for 13 years - some time before the current ownership. It was always excellent value for money, owned and run previously by an Irishman and an excellent French chef. Now I believe the ownership is French and I dined... More

My wife and I lunched in this restaurant yesterday (30/12/2016) without reservations. We were welcomed and seated efficiently (service throughout was very good). While reading the menu we received a pleasant little "amuse bouche". My wife ordered the "Assiette du Boucher" (Butchers dish). This was a generous helping of steak, chips, nicely dressed salad, and a Rocamadour cheese. The steak... More

Have been coming here for years now and really enjoy this pretty, unpretentious restaurant. We are welcomed back each year by the lovely hosts and great staff. Food and service here is consistently good and we always enjoy our night here.Lovely courtyard setting to dine in too!

My wife and I have been hiking through the Dordogne and after a dreadful dining experience at the hotel we were staying at in Labressac we decided to eat out the next night finding Restaurant Victor Hugo in Saint Cere highly recommended on Trip Advisor. We arrived by taxi with the external appearance quite deceiving but upon entry finding the... More

This is one of our local restaurants, and one to which we regularly visit ourselves as well as taking family and guests when they visit us. We find that we are always given a warm welcome by the owners and the waiters alike. There is plenty of choice on the menus and the steaks here are usually particularly good, as... More

We have been visiting this almost forgotten corner of France for many years and we always make a point of visiting the Victor Hugo restaurant at least twice. Excellent food and service, very warm and welcoming staff. It just gets better and better year by year.

We stayed at Hotel Victor Hugo for three nights in late July 2015. Our room was excellent with a well equipped bath/shower room. We dined in the restaurant on the two nights we did not have commitments elsewhere and found the food very good and very elegantly served. The proprietor spoke good English and was very helpful and friendly. We... More

We dropped in for a meal after a visit to the Padirac Chasm (also highly recommended) and ended up spending the night after a five course dinner followed by drinks. The food is truly excellent, the wine list impressive and the atmosphere so lovely that it is hard to leave. The service is very professional, while at the same time... More

Honest food, not too fancy but very tasteful. Service is good and even the manager is chipping in to provide service, check if everything is allright and to have a friendly word or two.
