There are only a handful of places to eat in Paradise and Brown's is definitely the best! Always busy. Keep in mind they close once the fresh fish runs out so hours can vary.

We saw the sign for "fish and chips" while driving back from the Shipwreck Museum. We actually drove past the place and had to turn around and drive back. The resturant opened at 1200, we go there at 1215, and there were only 2 empty tables!1 Fresh whitefish caught that am. Wonderful fish and chips. Great place!! They said they... More

Whitefish basket is the way to go. Perfectly cooked with baked potato and slaw. Also had sublime smoked fish chowder. Simple roadside diner with plastic baskets and cutlery, but don't let that deter you. The fish shines!

Went there on a whim and Browns didn't disappoint. Place is small so pay attention to the signs and WAIT TO BE SEATED! Ordered the whitefish, shrimp, baked potato, pickel awesome deal....."someone's going to get fired" Wait staff was super. Don't miss out. I'll be back

Wow! This place is tiny but amazing! Best whitefish and Tiger shrimp platter and their coleslaw is delicious! Wish we lived closer!

I had the broiled whitefish. BEST whitefish I've ever had. Anyone who loves and regularly visits the UP knows cash is king, so don't be surprised that they don't accept cc.

We tried to eat at this place 2 years ago because it was highly recommended to us. They were closed because there was no fish. This time around we caught them just before they were planning to close for the season. Oh man, every accolade I could give for fresh fish goes right here! We had the whitefish basket and... More

Cash only. They catch the whitefish in the morning and it is sitting on your plate that afternoon. Broiled of fried. Recommend broiled...moist, flaky. The fries are seasoned and are awesome. They have other items on the menu, but go for the whitefish. Very friendly staff. Obvious it is well patronized by locals and tourists....check out the world map with... More

Family owned and operated, small, most unique: a totally honest restaurant with the best fresh Whitefish along Lake Superior shoreline. Our FRESH Whitefish was brought ashore from their boat in the afternoon. In fact, Brown's usually opens at Noon but delayed until 2:30 pm because the boat was late getting in! Battered and fried is their normal preparation, but they... More

Fresh whitefish caught daily. Very good. They could refrain from using seasoned fries with batter and seasonings. Would have been better with plain French fries. Very limited menu but do visit for the whitefish.
