Everytime I go here I get what I expect, excellent food at reasonable prices. If you like oysters, try them here. We had the salt life sampler it was simply delicious. I had the lobster tails and they were yummy as well.

I've been visiting Tom's for over 20 years now. It's always a great little place to meet people for an appetizer or spirit. The service is always great and the menu has plenty to choose from!

I eat here maybe once a month. I can't remember the last time I had a bad meal. I highly recommend the mussels as an app. The fish is always fresh and the oysters are top notch.

Tom's Oyster Bar is always a good spot for a bit of fish and a good brew. He never disappoints. This time was three lobster tacos and a cold pilsner (or two). Excellent knowledgeable staff helps.

I remember when the first Tom's opened in Detroit. Boy the times have changed. Just another niche spot in a hot neighborhood. Appatizer dip came with 4 slices of bread when clearly 6-8 were needed. Food good, but small portions. If you've been to another Tom's miss this one! Service poor but entertaining. To many other good choices in. Royal... More

A quick glass of wine on a warm fall day - outdoor seating and 2 fab appetizers. Oyster Rockefeller and tempua shrimp were OUTSTANDING - quick and pleasant service . We will be back.

Went for a family birthday celebration. Our server, Kim, was fantastic. She felt like a member of the family by the time we were done. All food was brought out timely, water glasses, with ice, never got empty, and we were asked if we wanted bread. The food was very good, as was the dessert.

Had a very mediocre perch dinner at Tom's and my tablemates were not happy either. I guess the rumor I heard about Tom selling this place is true. We practically had to trip a waiter to get his attention and ask a question about one of our meals. We were never approached for another drink or refill of water. Five... More

Royal Oak and Ann Arbor are my favorite restaurant cities in Michigan (MI). There are so many places but some like this have been around and are old favs. Yes, Tom's is a bar. That being said there are some things they do really well. And yes there were different locations but they were independently owned and this is the... More
