We crossed over the Mackinaw Bridge into Upper Michigan. We always buy pasties when we’re in the Upper Peninsula. We saw the Bessie’s sign and decided to try their pasties. They were very tasty & reasonably priced. Staff was pleasant & we will definitely stop...More

This was a pick-up meal for us. It was served quickly and service was pleasant. The eating area was ample but we wanted to be outdoors to enjoy the weather. The pastie was tasty but the crust was too thick.

Quaint, friendly and tasty. Not fine dining, so leave pretense in your car. Worth the stop. Beef with gravy and coleslaw. Quick dining excellence.

Quant little place featuring Pasties, beef chicken or pork. Very friendly waitress. They serve gravy and cole slaw as a combo. I ask if they had rudabaka in and she said no. The pastie tasted fine, but I was told if it did not have...More

Bessie’s Pasties are most like Mom’s. Crust is simply delicious and the filling is rich with meat and vegetables. Definitely don’t miss for the most authentic old fashioned pasties.

I've had pasties before. I don't eat gravy so that puts me at a disadvantage as I think pasties are by default kind of dry no matter who makes them. It was still good but I'm sure gravy makes it way better. The one thing...More

Four days into our UP vacation, after four days of contemplating which place to stop at and try one of those famous pasties for the first time, we finally chose Bessie's! Frankly speaking, we were a little scared of most of the places offering the...More

Neat little place with super friendly front of house staff (even with the screaming kids, broken stapler, and a bunch of 5 / 6 tops walking in) From the oven that looks like the building was built around it, to the big balls of dough...More
