The service was great, the food was excellent. Everything is made from scratch. Servings are huge. If you aren't in a hurrry, Idas is a great place to go and linger over coffee and great food.

Note: I'm rating the restaurant based on todays experience only. We have enjoyed year round breakfasts for over a decade at this place. The service is usually great and the food is too. Today was a dramatic exception. A rude (and lazy) waitress made us do an about face and leave the place before we even sat down. I'm writing... More

Came here in August 2016. There was a long line and a 30-45 minute wait at 8am on a Saturday, but we decided to wait. SO worth the wait. The breakfast was seriously so good. Bacon cooked perfectly. Omelettes were fabulous. Coffee was amazing. I could go on. This is a quaint little breakfast place with indoor and outdoor seating.... More

The line tells you everything you need to know. This is the place for breakfast in Saugatuck. Everything was really good, especially their muffins. You can't go wrong here.

Service is stellar while the food is killer. Egg scramblers, potatoes & pancakes were great. Large portions, too. Their homemade muffins are served hot and are delicious.

Great breakfast place; limited seating; fresh tasty food.. Homemade muffins both sweet and savory; steamed eggs, great bacon, good toast.

This is a favorite spot to eat breakfast every time I visit Saugatuck. The waiting line is long but worth the wait.

We had breakfast here last weekend. Great menu. Homemade corn pancakes, 2 fresh sausage links and a basted egg was the perfect special. Yum! Cottage fries , grilled ham, and over easy eggs with rye toast 2 was also excellent. Definitely, a really good place to eat in the a.m. Highly recommend. Quaint, homey atmosphere!

1st time visiting Saugatuck and fell in love with the town . Nick from the Sand Bar told us about Ida's when we asked him for breakfast suggestions . The food was really good but I would get my eggs fried ( which the waitress told me I could get ) the next instead of basted . Great atmosphere and... More

We went here for breakfast, all the locals suggested it. Had the pancakes, they were amazing. Service was great, never had to ask for anything. We got there early, it was a good thing because it really filled up fast.

Since 1986, Ida Red's Cottage has been serving Made-from-scratch breakfasts and lunches, year 'round. Our little place is a busy one, and our kind of cooking takes time, so expect to have to wait, sometimes a long time, during the summer season.
