Prices were right but food just average at best. Fries came fresh and hot. Loaded waffle fries are for more than one person and I was told very good they would Be ordered again. Shrimp basket average and portobello sandwich not cooked properly making nice bun soggy and useless. Service was good. For a slower time of day I would have expected more. New building done very well. You need to stop in trying other items

Absolutely Fantastic

Being an Executive Chef ( for a long time 😉) I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with our visit. After working with their Chef for years I finally got up there to sample his/their menu. We were not disappointed at all. First, they were busy which started my visit with a smile. Being in the business I knew better than to not make a reservation as we came in with a six top and they sat us almost immediately. For apps, we had the Brussel Sprouts and Dirty Fries. Both came out in a timely manner and were spot on! Since I know the Chef I let him know I was coming in the day before so he saved a special for me which of course I ordered. The rest of the table sampled other items off the menu and again it was all spot on. Not to focus solely on the food all of the mixed drinks when done correctly. Not overpowering but mixed correctly to taste like a correctly made cocktail. Cheers to whoever made the drinks! So needless to say Chef Nick Kolnowskiand the staff at Smokeys got a 9.5 out of 10 from one of the hardest people on the planet to please when it comes to food that has been prepared and cooked correctly. Then presented, and served with professionalism. We will be going back which truly says everything.

Fun, Friends, Food

All in our party enjoyed their meals. For a small town bar/restaurant, this may be expected but there are very few choices for anyone with food allergies or sensitivities. All in all everyone had a nice time and will be back again.

I understand that Smokeys just reopened but my take out order was crazy. We ordered 2 small pizzas. One pizza there was no mushrooms and the pizzas looked like bread sticks. They were a joke. My daughter ordered an antipasto salad and asked for the meat on the side. She is a vegetarian. Well they meat was inside the salad. She asked for ranch dressing and received 2 little containers of what looked like bacon grease inside the containers. Disgusting. Done with Smokeys. $30 wasted.

I ordered a burger for dinner. Asked for it to be medium rare but received raw. The only thing that was somewhat cooked was the sides of the patty. I expected pink since I asked for medium rare but not raw burger. When I brought to the waitress attention she did nothing. The fountain machine needed to be replaced and the service was absolutely horrible especially since there was only two other tables.

We were looking forward to dinner and drinks at this renovated restaurant- unfortunately our drinks - wine/beer- didn’t arrive after 30 minutes. Lots of tables had full water glasses but we saw no evidence of food delivery to any of the tables in the whole restaurant.

Small town restaurant where everybody knows each other!

First time there after hearing about it from my wife, great service. I had the walleye, was cooked good, not really seasoned, but found out later I needed to ask for the grilled walleye instead. Either way, it was good and the atmosphere was the best!

How is it possible???

Really, how is it possible to have such a great smokehouse in the middle of nowhere??? We are just finishing the brisket dinner. I had coleslaw and the cider mill baked beans. My bride had the same however went with the mashed with gravy. Listen, we are from the Detroit area so we have had some of the finest BBQ around. This is as good as it gets!!! Love that it's close to our hunting camp:)

Good Food and Service

Our burgers were delicious with a generous portion of fries. The place was very busy, but the staff handled it well. Our server was a professional and on top of whatever her 'tables' needed before asking. I think they found their groove and operate the restaurant like a well oiled piece of machinery. Nice variety on menu. Something for everyone. Reasonable prices and portions.

Great Family Place

A lovely atmosphere and gathering place for family and friends. I had the Pizza and it was really good. I found the menu offered various items depending on my mood for the night. Our waitress was absolutely adorable and very professional.

Fun place to meet

Very home like atmosphere and great service made us feel good. My group of 6 all had well made and well presented meals. The staff aims to please. We were there for supper on a week night and it was cozy and fairly quiet. I'm sure it gets livelier on weekends. We plan to return soon.

Pulled pork sandwich was great!

I really like barbeque. Smokey's has an awesome pulled pork sandwich. Comes with the coleslaw. I don't normally have it that way, but it was great. And it was huge!

Food and service were good. Restaurant knew how many in the party in advance. Food was better than the last time I was there about 2 years before this. Would like to go again to check on quality of what was previously up-and-down for service and food.

Best Food for Miles!

On our visit to Hubbard Lake earlier this summer (late June) we ate at Smokeys for three different meals. Not only were their wings (smoked then fried) the best I have ever had, all three of us had great food with everything we ordered. They have a huge selection of items (wings, burgers, pizza, sandwiches, BBQ, ect.) which are all really good and top it off with a great selection of draft beer. A+ to Smokeys, keep it up.
