The service was great, greeted promptly and seated. The server(s) we’re very attentive and made sure we didn’t need anything. Great recommendation on drinks. We came to celebrate anniversary. Food was great! Tasted A+
I brought myself and six family members to Portofino Sunday night for a celebration of my wife's and daughter-in-law's birthdays. Service was impeccable, the view of the river and passing boats fantastic, and the food was terrific. I had the beef and Italian sausage pasta,...my wife the gnocci, other folks had other pasta dishes and sandwiches. The seven of us -- five of whom had cocktails, some two -- got out of there for about $259 with tip, which these days is quite reasonable given the quality of the food, service, and ambience. This has been our go-to date night place for, well, longer than I'd care to admit, and it's just as great as ever. Recommended.More
We arrived and were seated outside on the deck - very nice view of the river. Unfortunately, we sat there for 15-20 minutes with multiple servers walking by and no one stopped at our table. We were on a schedule so we couldn’t keep waiting...and left. I get that it’s hard to find help these days but assigning a server to a table is simple “blocking and tackling”.More
Nice menu, good variety, outside dining on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Very good wait staff, however; the hostess very young, poorly attired, not well groomed was off putting. Tiny little girl, socially blank and the other heavier set hostess in cut off jeans shorts was...equally out of place at the front greeting guests. Very happy with food, it was excellent. I expected to pay premium prices, service was great. I would return, but this place needs a better " opening act ". First impressions matter, and both employees at the front were misses.More
We had approximately 60 people in attendance. The staff were excellent along with ALL the food! We had a few special requests that were never questioned . We will be back
The Portofino restaurant was a fabulous experience. Staff, food, setting were all outstanding. The attendees at our event were highly satisfied. Top notch!
Stopped in for lunch, beautiful restaurant with great view of Detroit river. Food mediocre at best, portion very small, not much of a lunch menu. Bill was incorrect. Many better places to eat in Wyandotte. Unless just having drinks skip it.
Went here last night for my wife's birthday. We started out with french onion soup of which the cheese on top of the bowl was not fully melted and the the soup was warm and not hot as well as the soup was very salty...in taste. I ordered chicken marsala and my wife chicken piccatta. Our mashed potatoes were not warm so waitress brought us a new side order which was hot. Then when I got some butter to put on the seasonal vegetables it would not even melt and when I began to eat them they were not even sauteed, they were raw in my opinion and crunchy of which I like my vegetables cooked. I do not care for raw carrots, squash and zucchini. The last time we were here was 3 years ago for a Mothers Day buffet luncheon which was good, however after last night I do not look forward to returning.More
I brought an out of town friend here (her request) and it was probably our last time there. The staff was friendly enough, but after she ordered her food, it was barely warm, so she sent it back asking them to warm it up, not...remake it. It came back about as cold as she had first received it. I felt bad. Upon tasting my food, I found it to be lukewarm as well, but I feared sending it back (always have heard bad rumors), so I ate it. Mind you, each dish was approximately $21/each! Although the view of the water was nice, cold food is not, especially expensive cold food. I don't plan to return. Ugh.More
Four of us came here for lunch around 1pm. The place was empty. Great river views. They do have a $10 lunch special 2-4 pm. I got a hamburger. It was really good, the other (3) got french onion soup, it was just ok. They...also split a french dip. They both had plenty to eat. The menu was a little pricey and limited. They also have a bar snd Keno. I’ll come again. Service was good.More
I brought a group of (24) here for my mom’s funeral luncheon, They set up a buffet for us. We picked choice of food. Miniatures for dessert, which was extra. The drinks were really tasty but a little short of alcohol. The service was very...good. The food was good. Everyone really enjoyed it, it was what my mom wanted. A little over $1400 with tip. We live 1 1/2 hours away but we will come back.More
This is not a restaurant. It's banquet hall. Outdoor view was nonexistant as there was a huge yacht parked at dock. Have looked forward to dining there for years, will not return. We drove 45 minutes and were sadly disapointed. Everything is ala carte, no...bread basket, no sides. Food was mediocre . I understand all restaurants in Michigan are trying to survive and we visit them on a weekly basis. This one is pathetic.More
My grandson ordered Mac and cheese like every other 10 year old. The plate looked weird...I tasted it and the cheese was NACHO Cheese.. He looked at the plate and said "what is th?".... why would you do that???? It was sent back!! Really they...can't make Mac and cheese.. We were a part of 7. we will never come back.More
Tried this restaurant for the first time. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. The servers were very pleasant and professional; the view is beautiful; however, the food was a big disappointment. 1. The caesar salad was basically romaine lettuce smothered in anchovy oil. 2. The...lamb shank was so over cooked, the flavor and texture were completely destroyed. 3. The spinach tasted like it was heated up from frozen in the microwave. 4. The menu listed many beers, but they were not in stock. 5. After returning the food, uneaten, I was still charged full price for the meal.More
