Called in specifically on Saturday tea time and thought that the standards of both the meals and the beer was not as good as it has been during our previous visits. Unfortunately, I just put this down to lack of experience of the staff and hopefully this may well change in the course of time.

I can't recommend this place enough, the food and atmosphere were excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and allowed us to take our dog in the bar area while we ate. We will be back next year

Had another lovely meal on a Saturday evening. Good range of home cooked dishes from starters to sweets. Well worth a visit!

A typical, local, friendly, unpretentious Yorkshire pub serving typical pub grub. Pity they did not have more vegetarian or even one vegan item on the menu for the ever-growing band of people preferring to eat that way but, what they had was delicious. The pub was packed when we were there (a Saturday lunchtime) so the service was slow but... More

Visited in a Sunday afternoon after a cold & wet walk! A warm welcome in the bar area before eating. Menu was good, with lots of variety. Opted for the chicken dish, which I was slightly disappointed with. The sauce was a bit false & didn't really taste of much. My partners pie looked good though!

Have driven past here many times, and when we went in wow! What a surprise, the decor is lovely, everything you'd expect from a country pub. The food choice was excellent very varied something for everyone. Also taste was great. Will definitely return !

Found this pub whilst out walking from campsite at Cragg Vale. A few welcome early evening beers from the nice selection of local draughts after coming in from the rain with our soggy dog! Returned the next night for dinner. Roast beef in Yorkshire pudding and lamb burger from the proprietor's own flock. Pub food does not get better than... More

A group of us had a late lunch here after a walk on the moors. The reception and food did not disappoint. We can heartily recommend the steak and kidney pudding, meat and potato pie, roast dinner and lamb casserole. We didn't have to wait very long for the food at all, and when it came, there was plenty of... More

Felt welcome the moment I walked in. Good range of food but a little on the pricey side but looked amazing. Quiz night has an atmoshere all of its own!

We stayed here for one night as we did not want to stay in Hebden Bridge itself and were very pleased with evening meal, room and breakfast. What made us choose this inn however was the friendliness of staff (after having asked in various inns with totally disinterested staff this was a lovely surprise), a cosy lounge with open fire...
