Visited the Old Red Lion for Sunday lunch with friends and was greeted by a friendly young lady who showed us to our table, gave us menus and took our order. She was most helpful with our enquiries and brought our drinks order without delay. Our meals, we all chose the roasts, arrived promptly and were lovely. Plenty of delicious... More

Visited with the family and found a warm welcome even with a 4-year old on toe! The children loved playing skittles. We then settled down to a great lunch with scampi & chips for the grown ups and the children chose from the tapas which they devoured. I would recommend highly for a pub lunch.

Have visited twice in the last month and the food and service was brilliant. The seafood risotto is highly recommended and the chicken breast was superb.

My partner and I have been to the pub 3 times in 4 weeks as the place we used to use has had a change of management and no longer caters for our needs. On each occasion we have had excellent food and service and intend to use it regularly. The staff are great, Toby the chef is outstanding and... More

We arrived just as the restaurant was closing for lunch, but Toby (Head Chef and all-round nice guy) said, "Come on in, you're fine." We ordered various main courses and desserts, all of which were absolutely delicious, well presented and great value. The food is homemade with care and the service was friendly and personal. Exactly what we wanted for... More

We pulled in to the car park, it's an impressive but slightly unloved looking place, this was the best part or our visit to the old red lion, it was down hill from here. The greeting was friendly enough but awkward doesn't really do it justice, I kinda felt like we were the first customers they'd ever seen, the warning... More

Hi Marc, I'm sorry you've had this bad experience. However I find it difficult to agree with all of your points, especially when you have written good reviews about the place you own which I shall not mention out of decency. Your partner Octavia (who has also commented on our page about a very exaggerated, borderline, made up story.) and... More

We visited The Old Red Lion for Sunday lunch for my partners birthday as a party of 4. On arrival we weren't shown to a table, despite having booked, but were waved through to a room and told to "sit wherever". It seemed very disorganised and the staff seemed very uninterested. We went and seated ourselves at a table and... More

We called in here for a drink, asked what was the palest beer, and got offered a very large taste, before we were invited to order. The beer was lovely, so was the landlord, and the regulars clustered around the bar were smiley. The landlord found us a nice place to sit out the back, in the sun, and we... More

Friendly pub, very helpful staff and lovely food. Although they don't do a child's menu they would do small portions for us. Interesting pub skittles game which helpfully kept the children occupied while we waited for food.

Thank Claire M
