Beware The Honiton Inn serves hot food on cold plates. The meat in the steak and ale suet was tough and gristly whilst the suet was good as were the vegetables that accompanied the meal, but to present hot food on a cold plate is an absolute anathema to me.

We visited The Honiton Inn lunchtime on Sunday 5th Feb (luckily we'd booked as it was full!) and had a superb Sunday Lunch. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we were made to feel extremely welcome. The meals were cooked to perfection (we had the Sunday roasts along with dishes on the a la carte and the... On Monday we visited for evening meal. The website was advertising a Monday evening special offer price for 2 Steaks & a bottle of wine. We were staying at a B&B a few miles from this pub. Walking in, the pub was deserted, no staff in sight. The manager appeared, I asked if he was open for food. He replied,... More

The beer battered fish was very tasty and crispy. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. We had our meal early so the pub was quiet.

Popped in for a beer having been unsuccessful in another local establishment. In fairness the pub had just opened, nobody else in & it would have benefitted from the fires being lit to add a bit of atmosphere & warmth but with any pub once you get a few people buzzing around the atmosphere changes. The Honiton Inn once you... More

Nothing much to say really. I see the excellent reviews on here and have no reason to doubt that the food and decor etc etc etc are good. However , as a walker we visited the pub after climbing some monstrous hill and were looking forward to a quiet 1/2 hour in a country pub with a snack and a... More
