Had dinner at Alma on Mother's Day. Every dish was delicious. Service is always warm and efficient. Try the lamb and clam dish..sounds odd but my son said it was terrific. I Ike that they have so many vegetarian choices too. For me, the highlight, though was the Jarvara Chocolate Cremeaux...share it thiugh. It was rich and very generous portion.... More

Although we have been to Alma numerous times in past years - this was our first visit since the renovation. Their are significant improvements to the decor - there is more space for dining and the lighting is much improved. The food however, thankfully, remains "best of class" in the Twin Cities. A three course meal is still the style... More

Dined at Alma last night for our 8th wedding anniversary - it was perfect from every aspect. Delicious food, knowledge and timely servers, beautiful atmosphere in a quaint neighborhood walking distance to other bars/nightlife or scenic trails by the river. We tried everything from the ahi tuna to the halibut to the rabbit to the duck - it was all... More

You can dine in the restaurant or the less formal cafe. Both offer wonderful creative cuisine that should be a treat to any palette. Not a huge selection but each offering from the appetizers to the main course and desserts are cooked to perfection. Great for any occasion. The cafe dining room is open and tables close together, but the... More

Our family went early on a Sunday for breakfast. The restaurant has a warm ambience, spacious and airy and was quiet. Just perfect for my type of Sunday morning breakfast. Full meals were not being served yet (we arrived at 7:30am and that service starts at 8am) but we picked out some pastries and coffee. Everything we got was excellent.... More

I have dined at Restaurant Alma many times but I was very excited to try the new Cafe Alma next door. It is a simple, little, airy space with wonderful food. It is less expensive than next door with entrees in the $10-$14 dollar range. We started with the cheese board (which may go down as one of my favorite... More

Alma has recently opened Cafe Alma on the premises and this is a less formal setting for all day dining. Their chaucterie platter and cheese selection won't disappoint and you can even accompany it with draft Prosecco. We decided on red wine instead. I also recommend the olive plate. It is a step down from the more formal and fixed... More

Service was slow and unenthusiastic, location of our table was loud... took away from our birthday celebration event. Also, they forgot to prepare gluten free cake that we pre-ordered. Substitute dessert was not appealing in looks or taste but we appreciated the effort to solve the problem. Our experience was unfortunate because the appetizers and three courses were interesting, beautiful,... More

This is now THE place to eat in town, in some ways deservedly so, in others not. The ambience is definitely good, the servers exceptionally pleasant. The food is good, sometimes great. You will spend two full hours, however, eating three fairly small courses at high prices. So it's your choice.

Dining at Alma was such a surprise. When arriving, I was a bit confused as the location was not so ideal - in regards to the neighborhood. However once you walk in, you can feel such an abundance of joy in such a hidden gem. Everyone is extremely friendly. Although our table was not ready at the reserved time, the... More
