Met some friends here yesterday for breakfast. First time visitors , it was not clear where/how to order. Staff was not terribly friendly, the only person that actually smiled was the cashier. Breakfast sandwiches were very good, bakery items delicious! Quiche was average, the cranberry walnut bread was fantastic!

Great place to visit. Worth the drive over to this city full of history. A must stop for many treats and a old fashion bakery that is hard to find in Minnesota

Everything, absolutely everything is top notch! Service, bakery, deli... love it! The maple bacon donut is one of my favorites. If you're a true Scandinavian you'll love the Krumkakke and Rosettes! The Rosettes rival my Grandma's (shhhh!). The place is small and at the busiest times gets pretty cramped. If you want fresh bread, get there early because it's gone... More

Visiting Egan Minnesota and was hungry for doughnuts. My brother drove us to Red Wing (41 miles) and to Hanisch bakery. Not only was I there to buy goodies but before I ate lunch, I had a snicker doughnut. Not greasy, not too sweet. Just right. That was my appetizer before my lunch. Broccoli, rice hot plate or casserole where... More

I stopped in last week and got two custard filled eclairs and two custard filled long johns. $2.50 ea / $10 for four donuts. First bite into the eclair and the custard was still partially frozen. I think to myself. What a sucker! I just paid $10 for frozen flavorless donuts. I was not impressed by the taste or the... More

We were just wandering around Redwing doing a little shopping and peeked in the window. That turned into a mouth watering stop to say the least. I sacrificed my body again and walked out with powdered sugar in my bag and on my lips. EXCELLENT is an understatement for sure. I also have never seen a more beautiful display case.... More

All sorts of donuts and breads. They have a good assortment of Sturdiwheat products on hand as well. Go early to avoid the crowds! Opens at 6 am
