Fish n' Chips!? I mean, what could be better? Right here in Minnesota, too. Sadly, this joint falls short of its potential with rather high prices and food that's rather low quality. We stopped in one afternoon with the kids and ended up waiting quite awhile for a greasy bag of fishy food. The "Where's Waldo" poster was the highlight... More

This restaurant offers a fried and breaded product that can range from brilliantly flavorful to soggy and undercooked when the fryers are overtaxed with the huge take-out business done, especially on Friday's. Sometimes you can find a seat in the small afterthought of a dining area. My favorite is the walleye in two portion offerings and when cooked at proper... More

I and my British Ex-pat Husband stopped here on a Saturday for lunch. He gets a craving something fierce for fish and chips that taste like home. Both of us tried the halibut with fries- excellent choice. The fish was amazing- really meaty and fresh. I thought the fries were just right, not too crispy, not too soggy. The huzz... More

This is a hole-in-the-wall place that looks like a total dump (used to be a gas station.) The Halibut is worth the extra price--you won't regret it. Perfectly cooked and tender crispy, batter-fried fish. Fries are hand-cut and the slaw is homemade. YUM. (Don't bother with the shrimp -- that seems to be just frozen pre-breaded shrimp.)

Fluffy battered fish and they make a great sammie. No frills and fair price. You can have a date for under $30 and taste some awesome saltwater taffy. Order at the counter and find a space to eat a fast and easy lunch in this teensy 12 table space

One of my favorite places to go for fish & chips (thick fries). A variety of fish to choose from & a choice of larger or smaller portions at reasonable prices. You can eat in, or take the food home. The staff is friendly, the setting is very informal, yet clean. And the food is great! Even with choosing the... More

We love the fried cod at Macs. Walleye also very good. Tried the jumbo shrimp yesterday and didn't like them as much (not quite cooked enough, not crispy) Good creamy Cole slaw. Dining room is tiny, but the fish is best hot hot hot.

We stopped on a Friday night and had both the walleye and the cod. The cod was actually better than the walleye for less $. Fries and fish were both delicious and not over greasy. As a fan of a good chippy, we will definitely be back.

Finally we got there while they were open--they close at 8:30. Very, very hot inside the restaurant, but comfortable seating outside. Walleye was great, said husband. The shrimp was big and tasty. More like a breading than a batter, which was fine with me. I'd go again any time to try something else!

My son and I enjoyed the cod and halibut with homemade skin-on fries and homemade tartar sauce. The counter staff was friendly and the owner was on-site, running the frier. There are only 5 indoor tables. Outdoor seating is available, but not exactly beautiful. Takeout is the best option. We got the best and paid $35 for two large meals... More
