I had a conversation with the owner, Sandra. Her employee did not know how to apply my Groupon, the employee called the owner, Sandra. When I spoke with Sandra on the phone she was rude, and absolutely did not listen to me (very frustrating). Since...we were on the phone I don't think she realized who she was talking with-I have been a loyal customer there for years-but no more. Life is too short to be treated poorly by someone you have supported for so long.More

We ordered the Reindeer and Vegetarian Omelettes. They were brought out quickly. The omelottes were not the least bit tasty. They were what you would expect from a package or a convenience store. I think the effort is to get food out quickly not to...make it tasty. The prices are on the expensive side. The place is very loud and people shout to be heard. They had amplified music on the morning I was there and no one heard it above the clamor. This place has trendy trappings but very poor food.More

Stopped in Friday morning around 9:30 - 10 for breakfast. Parking is a bit limited in this neighborhood. Order taken quickly. Meal came out fast. Had their classic breakfast. No issues with their fried eggs, bacon or American fries. The small portion of salsa was...nothing memorable. My sourdough toast was nicely toasted but it had a hunt of cucumber on the butter. I don't like pickles or cucumbers. I smelled and tasted the cucumber. For the two of us, it was a $33.00 meal. This was way too high for this place and for what we ate. I'd eat here again, but not often because of the pricing.More

Neighbor restaurant that has stood the test of time by producing wonderful meals in a casual place, where you want to meet your friends for a good meal, especially breakfasts. There are several specialties -- whether it’s a classic breakfast or you want Lefse or...Finish pastries, you won’t go wrong with anything. Pastries are phenomenal. WiFi available. Exceptionally high quality coffee with Refills. Live music in the evenings. This place is worth the drive, even if you don’t live in the immediate area.More

Came by for a late lunch after spending the morning at Como Zoo. We were all starving and lucky for us it was Wednesday which was kids day. I did not see that advertised anywhere in the restaurant (saw it online) and did have to...ask about it, but the kids meal and additional sides of fruit were free with an adult entree. We certainly did not go hungry! I had the Pulla French Toast, which was delicious, but I think if I went back I would choose something a little more unique to the restaurant. Many places serve french toast after all. Despite that we enjoyed everything we ordered right down to the last crumb of almond kringle. Street parking was available, as was outdoor seating. Order at the counter and then your food is brought to the table. There was a pretty long line at the counter, but it moved fast. Service was pretty quick too. We left full and happy.More

The menu featured a variety of Finnish or near Finnish items in addition to typical American fare. The Finnish Oatcakes were quite good -- don't expect a light pancake! The Caprese sandwich was, indeed, a caprese salad on a roll. Definitely worth returning and exploring...the menu!More

Last night: Music - AMAZING Food - PERFECT (Buttered mashed potato with onion pizza? YES. A MUST try). Staff - Friendly, fast and efficient. Decor - Warm, inviting, family-friendly. Bakery - Pastries include "mini" versions for the calorie counters. Be warned: Eating 10 smaller pieces...is tempting and will mess up your waist but will be so worth it, I promise you that. Visit the Finnish Bistro as soon as possible, you'll be glad you did!More

The restaurant is just two miles on Como Park Avenue from Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. We combine our morning visit to the park with lunch here. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There is no parking lot, but parking on the surrounding streets is...available. Be prepared to walk from up to a block away if necessary. No parking meters but be aware of the posted 30 minute time restrictions on parts of the side streets. (Two hours on the avenue.) My favorite dish is French Toast with berries where they use pulla (a Finish bisquit sweet bread made with cardamom).More

I went with my sister and I had the oatmeal with berries and yogurt and brown sugar. Sometimes it is hard to go wrong with oatmeal but nevertheless it was good and nice consistency and the berries were tasty. My sister had a breakfast sandwich...and it looked wonderful. She loved it. It’s a nice little place with friendly folks and lots of windows - great bakery and a pretty extensive menu with lots of salads, sandwiches and quiche and more. I would definitely go back when I am a bit more hungry.More
