This is 5-star dining at its very best in a pure, natural environment that simply cannot be matched. Watch the sun set across the bay, or the moon as it sails above the distant hills. On cooler nights, nestle in by the open fire with a glass of Marlborough's finest and a dining experience you will never forget. As we wish to ensure that dining in the Foredeck will be a sophisticated and romantic dining experience for you, we ask that young children not be in the restaurant after 6pm.

The restaurant is amazing and this is highlighted by people flying in by chopper just for lunch
If nothing else that shows it’s worth the visit
plus they meet any dietary needs very well, just so flexible
We stayed here at the BoMC, and so dining here was a daily occurrence. And to be honest, this restaurant has set a VERY high bar for what luxurious dining should be like.
The chef that was there while we were there (Tom?) made some...of the most incredible meals we’ve ever had. Combine this with the delicious wine, limited occupancy and incredible views, and you’ve got one of the most amazing dining experiences ever.
Whether you’re staying at BoMC or nearby, you’ll want to make it a priority to dine here.More
Ate here every night for a week and never had a single thing I didn’t like or that wasn’t up to scratch.
The chefs will go out of their way to cook what you like and one night I had lobster!
The whole feeling is...relaxing just enjoying good food over looking the waters of the Marlborough Sounds.
Have a glass or two of what every you fancy and enjoy!More
What a superb location! After a long ferry ride through the Queen Charlotte Sound, we arrived at the Bay of Many Coves wharf. As we docked at the wharf, we were greeted by a lovely staff member who escorted us to the Foredeck Restaurant. To...our surprise we had the restaurant to ourselves (it was winter of course), and as we were guided through the lunch menu, we also learnt of the fascinating history of the Bay of Many Coves. Although we didn't stay here, the Bay of Many Coves has hillside villas (pic attached) which looked stunning, and if we return to this region again, this would be the ideal place to stay. We had a lovely afternoon at the Foredeck Restaurant, our meal was yummy, as was the wine, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, I didn't want to leave! To get to the Bay of Many Coves we traveled with Cougar Lines, who provided a great service.More
How can you mess up a meal for 4 when there's only 4 people in the restaurant? Did a good job of it. The Laksa was luke warm, no noodles in it, no coriander (well they did give parsley but that wasn't on the menu),...no peanuts. The Mussels - no crusty bread and no sauce to dip it in (did you even use Sav. Blanc to steam them?). Very disappointing.More
To really appreciate the superb chefs who work here, you must indulge in the 7 course degustation menu. It allows the chefs to show off all of their skills through 7 very tasty and unique dishes. Matching wines is also optional. Staff and atmosphere warm...and welcoming. Quite reasonably priced given the quality and richness of the experience!More
Lovely friendly staff at this fabulous restaurant, very helpful and professional. Gorgeous food served with delicious wines. Wonderful setting with views to the bay. Would highly recommend and would love to revisit.
We were testing out our boats new sounder in the 'Queen Charlotte Sound' & decided to call into the 'Bay of many Coves' for lunch. As we approached the jetty, a young man came down from the hotel to help us tie up our boat...& even helped me up onto the jetty from our boat. We then followed him up to the restaurant where we were shown a table to relax in while enjoying the amazing view over the water. Chilled water was bought out plus the food/wine menus. We both chose the squid dish which was delicious & beautifully presented (compliments to the chef) plus a glass of wine/beer to go with our meals. We could have stayed there all afternoon just admiring the view & watching the shag colony nearby. We will definitely be back here - Thank you Graeme & your team ... your '5 star' service started when our boat arrived right through until we left that day - very impressed.More
