Penns is know for fried catfish, chicken and more. This location had a buffet so I decided to give it a chance. As expected the catfish and chicken was good. A few of the buffet items were good but most were tired and mushy. The salad bar lettuce was browning. With some quality control the buffet could be good. Stick... More

I eat there once a year hoping it will be different but is always so salty I cant eat it and hard as a rock. I am not a ticky eater so if I hate it its terrible.

Catfish and hush puppies were pretty good, but not among the best I've had on this trip. The cole slaw, however, was wonderful. The place is clean, service was good and prices were reasonable.

My friend and I first went to a grill about two miles beyond Penn's Sunday after church for lunch. We were not satisfied with the long waiting time. I suggested we try Penn's. When we get there it was some different than what I thought it would be. My friend and I was again on our way out the door... More

We had high hopes upon seeing menu, shrimp and fish combo for 11.99? Can't beat it, we thought...lettuce on salad bar looked and tasted like it had been out a while. That is fine who wants to fill up on salad? When we got our food our plates were full and looked and smelled great. Boy were we wrong! The... More

My husband and I used to eat at Penn's quite a bit. However, the last few times we have gone, the smell in the bathroom/cashier area was terrible. It smells of sewage. Our last trip there was on a Friday night for the "Seafood Buffet". We arrived at 8:30 p.m. Our server or the hostess NEVER told us the buffet... More

I drove down from NC and all I could think of was getting some good fish in MS. We'll let me tell you, this is the spot. Penns on Lakeland Dr had a buffet that will give you the best fried catfish, baked fish and more. Along with the fish was great fried chicken, hush puppies, sweet potatoes, shrimp, green... More

Penns is a restaurant that has been around for a long time. The food is old style southern cooking. The speciality is catfish, but they have good fried chicken as well. There is a buffet available, but I usually order from the menu when I am in town visiting family. The food on the buffet is decent, but it's not... More

I really like the food at Penn's, but sometimes their floor is oily and slippery. A friend who was dining with me slipped and fell there and while the staff there was wonderfully helpful, the owner was not as nice. I still go back but I wear shoes with non-slippery soles!!!

Love the catfish, very easy to find and service is good. Have only eaten the lunch buffet, but their are lots of choices on the bar. Great place for a family, group, friends or business. As you can guess my choice is catfish and hushpuppies. Am always full and happy when I leave.

Thank Michael H
