We've been waiting a long time to visit the Railway Inn and we were not disappointed with the surroundings, friendly attentive staff and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Varied selection and offers on the menu, with slightly above average prices? All the food with one exception was very good; a starter salmon with beetroot was 'woody' and hard to... More

We would like to congratulate the team at the Railway Inn, this is our 2nd visit here ( evening and lunch visits). On both times we have received excellent customer service, something that will keep bringing us back despite being a pub/restaurant not local to where we live. I would recommended booking a table if you wish to eat purely... More

Having wanted to come here for some time perhaps I had built us too much expectation. Visited on a weds lunch time with my husband and 4 children. Whilst the staff were amiable enough they are not very personable. The restaurant is a beautiful oak framed building but lacks a cosy feel and atmosphere which is slightly more present in... More

I took my wife for a meal here on Valentine's Day, for lunch. Well what a fantastic pub, restaurant. The service was excellent and the food very filling with a fantastic taste, I had the ribeye steak, cooked totally the way I ask for it to be done, Sandra had the burger, she thoroughly enjoyed it, and the triple cooked... Having heard good things about this place our eventual visit was disappointing. The red wine was not good, the Ham Egg and Chips was a bit different - but I don't think the warm ham steak is what is expected of such a traditional dish, and in any event it was dry and rather tasteless, while the chips did not... A renovated stone pub with a modern tall, light and spacious oak framed addition. We arrived for a late lunch and there were still a few diners, but it was pleasantly quiet to enjoy a family meal. The fish was perfectly cooked had a crisp batter, I have seldom tasted better, and the thick chips were ample. The ham was... More

With a bit of a budget, and making sure you book your table... i dont like it too busy so id never go peak time, ie friday night, tho sure it would still be ok! So this place is nice for a slightly better meal out, so costing 50% more than your local pub, but a good experience overall, and... More

Visited for a family birthday for Sunday lunch service. We were served by Cat who was very attentive & child friendly. Both pork & beef roasts were delicious & I can genuinely say that all of the veg & potatoes was delicious too. All too often you can go out for roast but feel as though you can do better... More
