We were looking for someplace quick in downtown Hannibal to have lunch between our trolley tour and the Mark Twain riverboat cruise. We just happened to be walking past Ole Planters restaurant and decided to try it. We both had the tenderloin sandwich on rye bread, along with chips and a pickle. The sandwiches were delicious -- a thin, tender... More

Hannibal is a lovely town with tremendous history. After a morning tour of Mark Twain sites we stopped here for lunch. The restaurant is quaint if not a bit old. And, it was packed. All that said, we were seated immediately by and very busy, but super friendly waiter. You would have thought we were his only customer. The menu... More

Stopped for lunch as we were passing through town. Comfortable and cute dining area. Service was quick and friendly. We didn't order the special of the day (BBQ pork and beef), but the folks in the dining area that did, had it at their table in less than five minutes. We both ordered sandwiches and expected to wait a little... More

Our server, Joe, was awesome! The portions were more than enough, and the green beans were amazing! I had the chicken strips, potatoes, corn, green beans, and bread. One of my companions couldn't decide between the BBQ Beef and BBQ Pork; Joe said that he could bring both. We were well cared for and fed well. Excellent food and service!

I made reservations for a group of 17 on October 20th for 12 noon. When we arrived they had our tables set and were ready for us. Although they were a little short handed that day, our waitress was energetic, polite, and very efficient. The food was delicious and we were in and out in about 50 Minutes. I would... More

We rode the Riverboat and this place was recommended for the pie! Glad we went...yummy! We split the German chocolate & the chocolate caramel. Delicious. Service was friendly.

Found this gem in the downtown area. The food was good. I had the BBQ pork (not ribs) with green beans and corn. My husband had the Monday special meatloaf with green beans, corn and potatoes. Not much for ambiance, but ok. Service was good.

This the best tasting BBQ Beef & Pork I've ever had in Hannibal, Missouri. Highlighted by fresh hand picked beans and corn.

Went there for the famous German Chocolate pie, and they didn't make it that day. My order was messed up, I asked for 2 orders of potatoes and no corn but still got corn and only 1 order of potatoes. The food was ok tasting but not anything special. I would not return.

Thank Kyla G

We asked a local for where they would go for dinner and they suggested Ole Planters. We could not have been happier. The restaurant had been there for years and its decor suggested this in a charming way. The dinners were a mix of locals and visitors. The dinning was homestyle and yummy. The meats were cooked to yummy perfection just like mom would do. As we were eatting the cook was bringing out freshly made pies which tasted as good as they smelled. One of the customers wanted to buy the entire pie it was so good. We loved Hannibal and this was the perfect restaurant to top off a day of traveling back in time and enjoying Main Street USA and the Mississippi as Tom Sawyer and his friends might have.
