Always a great experience! Stopped by for lunch today to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Food was excellent as usual and the wait staff was friendly and helpful.

I love this place's atmosphere. I have never been inside. We always eat on the patio. The street they are on is rather quaint and has lots of pretty flowers. The patio became quite packed after we placed our order. We were there early so...must be a very popular place! We are from out of town. Everyone's order was very good. Except for the lasagna being controversial. It has a creamy base sauce that was in the description. It changed the taste from regular lasagna to a different taste. Some may love it. My husband prefers the traditional taste. We had some great salads. Mine was hearts of palm and artichoke hearts. I loved it other than the fact it had zero lettuce! LOL Burger was great. We will definitely be back. The atmosphere was fun and the service, although rushed, was good.More
I have been going to Madison's for well over 15 years, it has been a JC "go to" for many. I am sorry to say but the service and food has declined over the last 3 or 4 years. I get COVID set many places...back, but most have recovered but not Madison's, at least in my opinion. It wasn't horrible by any means, but there are now many other places that are better. Give them a try, you opinion may be much different than mine, but the last several times I have been there I have been disappointed.More
I never write reviews- BUT We arrived before the lunch hour. It took about 45 minutes to get our food then they brought our niece the wrong meal. It took us about 25 minutes to eat, during which she watched us eat because her correct...food never came. Our water was never refilled so we ate without anything to drink. We went to the front to pay & cancel the food that never showed up. As we walked away our waiter ran after us to accuse us of not paying. It was just a really awful experience without any real customer service. Sad because I use to like this restaurant.More
The owner of Madison's was very helpful in arranging the rehearsal dinner on August 12, 2022. He emailed me the menus, discussed the options and prices. Somebody had school him very well. Big Whiskeys didn't have a room big enough and the wine place across...the river didn't ever call me back. The service was outstanding.More
Excellent food and service. Best casual dining experience in Jefferson City. Their pasta dishes are really good and the fried zucchini is awesome.
The physical amenities are nice. The food is reasonable and the service was very good and our server was good at explaining the menue. The ONLY THING that knocks the rating down is the fact that the guy answering the phone and taking care of...the ticket/bill was coughing frequently; no mask, did not even cover mouth.More
I bring a large business group to Madison’s every year and we spend a lot of money. We won’t be returning. Every year we get hassled about not being allowed to order ahead of time. I have even agreed to let them charge my credit...card, so they don’t have to worry about me skipping out. We like to order ahead of time to speed the process up, help the kitchen staff because we usually arrive right before the lunch rush, and because we have a very long (several hours) ride back. I spoke to the owner and, although he allowed it this time, it appeared to upset him. The previous eight years we were denied this option. We always call and make a reservation several weeks ahead of time. I typically walk in with everyone’s order written out and asked that they put the order in 15 minutes prior to my group finishing their Governor’s mansion tour. So the group is literally a few hundred yards away. I guess someone else will get our $400 in the future. It is sad because the wait staff agree with my logic and the food and atmosphere are good. Our waitress, Laura, was very nice and efficient.More
Disappointing, we ordered what was recommended and felt it was lacking in flavor and presentation; unfortunately the salad was soggy, chicken overcooked and some food served lukewarm.
We stopped in for a early dinner after being out on the motorcycle all day. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple of drinks before dinner. I chose the "Burnt" sandwich and subbed the fries for a combination side salad. The salad was...very fresh and the dressing was really good. Now for the "Burnt" don't be put off by the name as it was an excellent sandwich. A butterflied beef tenderloin steak cooked just the way you want and smothered with caramelized onions, mushrooms and cheese. It was delicious! The bartended Jack was the one who suggested this and I was not disappointed! Try it and I am sure you will agree.More
Met friends in the bar for happy hour. The waitress was super, very attentive but not intrusive. The menu has many great choices. I had the Pasta Sydney which was wonderful. I even had enough left over for lunch the next day.
We stopped on the way back to the lake! Have eaten there many times. The food was great, linguini and chicken liver and mushrooms. The Linguini Julian, both with white sauce. The mixed salad with creamy Italian dressing all great!!! The triple chocolate cake desert...with strawberry’s and espresso coffee was excellent. The food service was slower than normal , quality was not lost!!! The server Zane a two week new made the evening comfortable and enjoyable!!!!More
We had very good meals and excellent customer service! Sarah was our server and gave us great ideas and comments regarding their menu! The Prime rib and Julia ( pasta, shrimp and scallops) were very good meals and very large portions!
I took my mom here during the pandemic. I really appreciated that staff wore their masks at all times. The food was good and I love that they offer outdoor seating.
This restaurant definitely has an upscale feel. There’s plenty of seating, the service was attentive and fast. We ordered food to take on the train bc we were leaving town. It’s 2 blocks from the Amtrak station. The food was wrapped very well, our food...was still hot and delicious when we ate it on the train ride home. I’d recommend eating here.More
