this place is what you expect from a real smoke and BBQ place. The smoke aroma hits you when you step in the door. Its not fancy, its not lavish, just good at home and wholesome food. I had pulled pork with beans and slaw, my plate was empty in short order and my belly was full and satisfied.

Looking for a kc bbq joint after flying in from out of town, I saw a sign for smokebox bbq cafe and stopped. The burntends, smoked sausage, baked beans and cheese corn were fantastic! Highly recommend!

This place may have plastic utensils and styrofoam cups, but the food is excellent. We didn't want a big dinner so we each had a sandwich... beef brisket on white and pulled pork on a bun. We shared fries and onion rings, nice and hot. We will definitely stop again on our next trip through this area.

I learned about Smokebox from a friend who used to live in the area. I would highly recommend it to anyone within the KC area. Their sauce was perfect - not too sweet, not too tangy. The meats were cooked to perfection. My group tried the turkey, brisket, and burnt ends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The portions... More

This place is in a small strip mall. Didn't even notice it the first time we drove by. Not a fancy place at all. Styrofoam cups, plastic plates and plastic utensils. But the food is great. We had the ribs, pulled pork, brisket, bake beans, fries, coleslaw and cheesy corn. Yum, yum. Everything was delicious. First time having cheesy corn,... More

This was the epitome of the neighborhood BBQ place, other than the strip mall location. The food is leagues ahead of the Smokehouse BBQ we had the night before, proving that local is always better than the chain restaurants. Had the burnt ends and brisket, and couldn't get enough of either. Enjoyed being a part of the local clientele vs.... More

We were in the area tooling for quick lunch fast before a appointment. This came up on trip advisor as a good choice and we agree.

The fries were just ok, the coleslaw was passable, the beans were good......but OMG the best burnt ends I have ever had period!!!! I eat a ton of bbq and these are award winning. Ribs were cooked perfectly with a huge smoke ring and fall of the bone tender! The place smells heavenly when you walk in and the Q... More
