I just learned that the Savoy Grill was struck by a fire, and is closed until later this year. So, on this KC trip I missed my favorite meal. When it opens, I'll make a point to visit KC and check it out again. It was one of the best dining experiences I ever had. The food was really, really... More

This is a tradition in Kansas City! The best fresh seafood in the City. If you have time to make a reservation in advance, ask for The Harry Truman Booth...it's the booth where he ate lunch everyday when he was a haberdashery young man. You won't be disappointed!

It's such a cool building with historic details but the menu is also historic. Seems like it hasn't changed in years. Salads were fresh & tasty, halibut was very good but the sole stuffed with crab lacked seasoning and the side of broccoli was mushy. You get what you ask for in the potato side since it was 2 lukewarm... More

We have always went to this restaurant for its phenomenal Lobster Bisque. However, this time we are sure the recipe has been altered and it seemed only above average. They have a wonderful bread basket, great scallops (what I went for) and I love their house dressing on the salad. Price vs quantity was average overall. TIP: watch where you... More

Grill had far more tables than should have been in the room. Meal was Ok. Walked in one evening to have a cocktail while waiting for transfer to arrive. Tables are very close to bar stools.

This is the oldest restaurant in KC. The charm is second to none. Our bartender was one of the "new" kids and he had been there for 7 years. The menu looked amazing and the next time I'm in town, that's on my list. Our late night cocktails were a perfect way to end a great day in KC.

The reviews of this restaurant are so varied we just had to visit for my birthday. We have eaten here several times over the years and have always enjoyed. We had a reservation for 6PM for a booth with our favorite waiter Palmer. The atmosphere here is great, lots of Kansas City history We were very pleased. Our daughter had... More

We were in Kansas City mid June for a convention and around 14 of us went to the Savoy Grill for dinner. I'm sorry to say that it was a disappointment. Sure, it is historic and upscale (at least as far as the prices go…), but the food left something to be desired. Both my husband and myself had steak... More

My son and daughter-in-law came to town and wanted to go to The Majestic Steakhouse. Because of the reviews, we decided to try The Savoy Grill instead. The service was impecable but the food was not worth the high prices. I had the veal and it certainly was nothing extraordinary. My son had the steak and lobster and said that... More
