Yes, it's crowded, but for a reason. Yes, you have to stand outside, sometimes in the frigid cold or having great. But believe me, it's worth it. The food is both creative and stick-to-your-bones diner good. I recommend there cornmeal pancakes and Irish coffee. Doesn't...More

Small place that serves dishes with big southwestern flavor! We had four in our party and each dish had just a hint or more of spice. A must try is the pancakes with a hint of corn served with purée strawberries. We also ordered the...More

Had brunch here during a recent visit to STL and enjoyed it. The place is popular, so expect a wait (even with a reservation, we waited about 20 minutes). Good news is that Southwest has a converted school bus where you can wait out of...More

Had breakfast here on the Friday after Christmas. We were lucky that since there were just two of us and two available bar stools, we had no wait. We'd fully anticipated a wait. The food was good -- beignets were not really that good --...More

Get in there! it's funky fun and delicious plus the price is outstanding. Jonathan who is one of the owners is personable, and the home made busquits are great. Fresh, food and charming service make it the breakfast to drive to.

Pancakes, bacon, sopapillas, tots—all excellent, but my favorite dish is the Grits in Fire. The spicy carne adovada and the creamy grits topped with an ever easy fried egg, the runny yolk spilling over the top of it all—divine.

I ate there with a friend around 11:30 on Dec. 29th. We waited for about 30 minutes. The gentleman seating everyone was extremely friendly. Once we arrived at our table, it was a different story. It took over 5 minutes for our water, 10 minutes...More

Although it gets quite crowded on the weekends, if you are able to go during the week, I highly recommend it. On Tuesdays they have tamales available. Good coffee in quaint mugs, the best breakfast burrito in town and great service. Plus, it's in the...More

We tried going on a Sunday morning last month but the wait time was an hour and a half! There were people waiting outside and it was crazy busy. We went to a nearby pancake house which, although busy, had a much more reasonable wait...More

A New Mexico themed diner. Interestingly, it is on Southwest Avenue. Their slogan is something like, A taste of the Southwest on Southwest.
